Cabin Fever Discussion Thread
Cabin Fever this year is going to be HUGE!!! Benny and the boys are brewing up some great things to put the full city in the show with a large dirt area.
Winter Meet: April 10-12, 2015 York Fairgrounds & Expo Center 334 Carlisle Avenue York, Pennsylvania 17404 I wanted to also pass along some rules for this event: 1. Please no walking on the roadway. Benny has put down more money than he wishes to publicize on high end roadway for everyone to use. No tar paper here. Please respect that and if see others going to do it, please remind them. 2. RC semis and construction equipment only. Leave your crawlers and 1/10 monster trucks at home. If you want to bring it to show off the build, leave the radio at home. 3. Respect. Respect each others equipment. If you bump someone's truck or accidentally cause damage to someone else's equipment, man up and do the right thing. |
Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!
Hi Rod, Thanks so much for your comments and support.
I as well as the group am very excited about the upcoming Cabin Fever Show. It will be so good to see my friends, participants and everyone's unique contributions to the show. I also want to extend my gratitude to Gary, the shows coordinator, for putting together what has been referred to as, "The largest show of its kind in the country". I welcome everyone to reach out to me with any input and requests regarding the show, as this can only enhance what is already coming together as a most memorable event. |

Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!
Cabin fever will be the first event I'll get to. I wasn't sure what to bring but by the sounds , everything :). I know you guys are trying to make this event similar to some of the European events. I believe I will be able to lend a hand in setup Friday morning, if any help is needed. Anyone bringing little shrubbery? Or I guess to ask , how can I help?
|
Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!
Shrubbery is a good idea. One time Stevie and I talked about cutting down a forest before my dragline could strip off the overburden. All of your projects are welcome there , "in the works" or ready to run. That's what the show is all about.
Hmm. Need a Feller Buncher Skidder Dozer. Know anybody with one of the above? |
Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!
I love the idea of haveing shrubbery for the layout I have also acquired 150' more roadway from last year show.any club member that would like to take a
building or garage to the show let me know so i could figure it into the layout Im also working on a scale house and trommel I hope to have them ready .I have my fingers crossed .Thanks |
Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!
Some scale trees, oh yeah !!! Now when the wife goes flower shopping in spring I will now have an interest!!! I was thinking some small arborvitaes like 12-16" tall. I'm gong to try and be there Friday morning, a bit of meet and greet, sign up with the ecmt, put some aviators with faces/names ( have to warn ya all, I'm very forgetful of names, so if I don't introduce my wife I either forgot your name or hers) :). Lol!! I'll have a look around when time approaches and see what I can come up with for some "scale" trees, shrubbery ect. Probably be potted (able to use after show) or branches (that will have a scale appearance or best fit) I have a few scale orange road cones printed also. But I imagine exclusive has one or two of them:).

Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!

Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!
Last years Cabin Fever show was great and i am sure this year will be even better with all of the people that are bringing equipment.
A tri-axle load of dirt in a climate controlled building for a few days what more could you ask for..!!!!:D |
Re: ECMT 2015 Schedule!
I checked on Google maps yesterday to see exactly where it was. Apparently it is 4734km from here and I can drive there in 46 hours:eek:. I'm not sure what type of car Google thinks I have but man you would have to be haulin a$$.lol It sure looks like it would be a blast to attend. Maybe one year I'll make it but by then you will need a bigger facility:cool:...
Have fun boys! |

Re: Cabin Fever Discussion Thread
Ok just got the final words with work and play. I'll be there, shooting for arrival before noon on Friday. I will try and get some scale looking pieces of shrubbery to bring that can be just stuck in dirt and or make a base for them. Like I said if I can find some that have a scale appearance, not just pieces of the pine tree growing out back:). Lol!! I called the expo center and they offer parking for vendors/exhibitors with large vehicles (motorhome) and have electric too!! The service guys called and don't know if I'll have my generator back by then but at least I'll have the room to bring everything. Wife too, and if she comes so do the big dummies!! Glad no dogs are allowed inside or you all would have slobber covering most of your electronics!! Maybe I could auction one or two of them off? Ahh naa I do need the wife she is a big part of the family business. See you guys in a week or so. :) and just a warning, I'm terrible with names, so if I don't introduce my wife I may have forgotten her name.

Re: Cabin Fever Discussion Thread
Hey! I have been off-line for a good while, but getting back in the swing here.....
I am going to make it there Saturday for sure. I also have a few others in the area who have expressed interest in going. Some where hesitant till they heard there will more road (some are scared of getting their purty trucks dirty :D ) , but I don't have an exact head - count. My guess would be about 5 guys with 8 or 10 trucks and a half dozen assorted trailers. Also:Do we have any info on how to get in / where to park and whatnot if you are participating and not just a spectator? I posted this elsewhere but this gives you an idea of our little trucker gang from just this past weekends little gathering: http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...psc8evr4gy.jpg |
Re: Cabin Fever Discussion Thread
Heavy Metal Doctor: See attached link for the show. All the info you need is located there.
:update: I read through it and they added our RC equipment as a new attraction. http://www.cabinfeverexpo.com/ |

Thats awesome, :bounce: the more the merrier, we will most def have more road and places to drive and do things for the strictly on road vehicles, Plenty of parking there around the arena, you and your friends will have a great time, look forward to meeting you all. |
Re: Cabin Fever Discussion Thread
I will be there Saturday morning with a few trucks. This will be my first cabin fever show and I cant wait!
|
Re: Cabin Fever Discussion Thread
Something to take note of:
For you guys coming in on Saturday morning, you may have to stand in line for a while to register and pay. I don't know if there are two lines; One for the general public, and one for exhibitors. I'm not 100% sure but you may be able to preregister by calling the people in charge. I have always been there either Thursday later in the afternoon when there is not as much commotion. |
Re: Cabin Fever Discussion Thread
Looking the show website, it looks like anyone coming for just Saturday just has to be sure and be there at 8 AM to get in as participants ahead of the general public / spectator opening time of 9 AM....after 9 and I'd expect you'll be waiting in a bit of a line.
