FRV new project
so the boys at Frigid River Ventures towing and repairs needed a new tow truck but there was not a lot of money but there was a lot of parts lying around the wrecking yard next door so they got at it

Re: FRV new project
Is that a "scale" 1/10 scale Freightliner Cenrury Class on the floor? A lot of nice detail to look at!

Re: FRV new project
So it's 1/32 scale in 1:1 but I was trying to figure out what it is in the diorama based on comparing it to the other stuff I'd figure it to be about 1/10th maybe?

Re: FRV new project update
not really a build thread cause I am bad with picture taking while I build so here is where the boys are at
cut the body apart and tilt the cab http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...em_/001_10.jpg added the back of the cab detail http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/003_8.jpg check the boom assembly placement http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/002_7.jpg welded up the cracks in the cab http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/004_7.jpg mount the wrecker deck on the chassis and get the boom mounting figured out http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/005_7.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/006_7.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/007_7.jpg and there is where the boys are now |

Re: FRV new project
the back of the deck is to far from the ground so it need a filler
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...em_/001_11.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/002_8.jpg just random progress shots from here http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/010_5.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/009_4.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/008_7.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aem_/006_8.jpg another day gone but on another note I got all the electrics figured out and the new rx bound to my tx |
Re: FRV new project update
so as it happens I forgot to post progress so here is a bunch of pictures this truck was never intended to be a show quality build I wanted it to look like a recycled junk yard find so I left a lot of imperfection.

Re: FRV new project
well took this thing out for a good run last night and it was a failure
1 broke the rear diff mount 2 smoked the esc 3 broke another winch cable 4 found one of the deck mount bolts was too long and on a left turn hooked the rear tire stopping the truck other than that is a great runner |
