Tilt nose Pete 379

Just finished this Pete 379 for my buddy who paints most of my trucks, he wanted a nice looking daily runner that a working man would be proud of. He wanted the tilt nose with an exposed engine and lights but not to many, that was the hardest part for me, lol. I wanted to add more lights. Steve's rims and front bumper, rods visor, PMD breathers, Brian's grille. Paint and fenders are by Bob.

OMG, that is gorgeous! Great job! Where is the electric motor? Is there an MFU in the cab?

I used a R2 Trans with a 27 turn motor and yes it has a full MFU in it as well along with a Pico switch to control the smoke and a battle switch to control the aux lights.

Thanks RCtrucker2

Very nice work. Air bags all around I see !
Is that tail light plate from PMD? Looks good with the tapered rails.

white smoke looks more like water getting into the cylinder

Now I see the problem there is no radiator under the hood
head is most likely cracked

Wow, I like this one! I think it's my favorite that you have built. Maybe this one and the Triple 3. The only thing I would change is the air cleaners, or just the intake screens.

The smoke coming out the stacks is cool.
Have you got any pics of the hing and how you mounted it ?

Cheers Tracy

Amazing looking truck.:D:cool: I love everything about it. I do have a question, what smoke generator did you use, and do you have pic's of it hooked up? I'm wanting to add one to one of mine.

Thanx, Big John

Thanks. Yeah the guy I built it for is going to detail under the hood so maybe he'll get the smoke under control.

Thanks, yeah I suggested he go with another set of breathers to clean it up but he had them already.

Thanks Big John. It's a set of Seuthe no. 5 smoke units that I wired through a Pico switch. As you can imagine I was running out of room inside the truck so I installed one in each stack, it allows access to fill them with the smoke fluid easier as well.

I filled them down to fit snugly in the stack.

Thanks Mike,

I'll post some pics of the hood hinge, I use brass flat plate 1/2" x 2" bent to 90degrees, solder a piece of 1/8" ID tube to it, drill and tap the bottom of the grille and mount the plate to the grille. Then I use two pieces of brass 1/4" x 1" with three holes drilled in them, mount the two pieces to the front spring hanger and then use a 2-1/2" piece of brass rod to slide thru all three pieces. The bottom of the grille needs to be notched a bit as well.

Great work with the tilting Hood, how close are the guards to the air cleaners when you tilt it? have you lengthened the bonnet?

cheers
Paul

Paul, the hood and breathers clear each other when tilting. The hood was not lengthened.

I think the difference must be the guards as I can not tilt the hood with the air cleaners on as the guards catch the bottom of them. My solution is to lengthen the Hood 20mm, this will make it more scale to the truck I am building anyway.

Cheers for the reply........ps: great trucks!

Im pretty sure the grill is one from a memeber on here who made some pretty awesome grills. His name is Brian in Pa. Im not sure if brian is still making them. I do have one and they are awesome. And no the headlights dont come on that pr most grills, unless they are the ebay ones made in china. Which still look nice also. Im pretty sure keith got the head lights from rick at PMD his website is www.gardentrucking.com and he is a vendor on this forum.
