Pete tow truck.

I picked up a new rolling chassis with one of Johns Pete cabs at the Central Plains show this weekend. I am thinking I will make it a work truck and beat it around a little.

Re: My new Pete work truck.

Travis is the sleeper roof lower than the cab or is something not bolted down?

Re: My new Pete work truck.

Dang Travis it took you no time to swap out some wheels and get this truck up on the bench. I can't wait to see where you go with it and hope to see it working soon. Also see you ended up with my leftover aeromax cab too. Good luck with that body I'm pretty sure it's been all around the world atleast once. Please give it a home and beat on it too while your at it.

Nice looking rig. As RockN was saying I see an aeromax that I believe was once mine before he had it I could be wrong though...if not It has made it all over the US and Canada.

Re: My new Pete work truck.

Thanks guys and I do have a plan for the Aeromax cab. Here are some pix of what I started before but the truck was used to build the service truck instead. Oddly enough the cab is almost in the same shape and color of what I Started with last time.

http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/s...k/IM000507.jpg

Now I will have to use the B/S/T to see if I can find the rest of the parts for the cab.

Travis that video is killer. This truck took a major turn between the two of us. I love the new boom and drives in the back. Can't wait to see it with the rear body work.

Great video. Nice work on the screw drives. Speed looked great with no lack of lifting power. Good job.

Re: My new Pete work truck.

Very cool Travis, love the video and as Fred said very smooth operation. Lots of lifting power as well. Nice job.

fhhhstix 11-07-2012 10:12 PM

Re: My new Pete work truck.

Well I decided I needed more power so I redid the lift and the telescope and I am a lot happier with it now. I tested the boom lift by sticking my 36# box of lead on the boom at the end and it picked it up no problem. I then made a video of it lifting the heaviest truck I had available and it work great. Here is the new video of the truck with the new modifications.

Re: My new Pete tow truck.

Travis it's coming along nicely. You gonna have opening doors on the side for electronics access and to keep some extra tools in? That would be something great to store parts in at shows.

Thanks Guys and that will be a no on the opening doors Tyler. I did that on the service truck and it was a real pain so I think it will just be simulated doors for this one.

Travis the truck is looking better and better each time. The rear boom looks like it is operating very smoothly as well. Can't wait to see some more body work on this truck. I definitely needs more lights thought and lots of "flashy" lights too. :D
