Re: The big bad thread of Russ's custom builds

I'm getting pretty close to finishing up this king hauler, but here is a quick look at the build up and where i'm at now on it.

i've used the king cab and drive train on this, the rest is custom.

http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m...psvkfcbiog.jpg

http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps7s6mhza0.jpg

I'm kinda going for an old skool look with this truck so a mercury sleeper seems pretty fitting for this build.

http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps9p2dsxrm.jpg

All mocked up and ready to tear the truck back down for some paint and polish

http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps2ck07hua.jpg

And that brings it up to where i'm at now on this one. Frame painted and ready to start going back together.

Re: The big bad thread of Russ's custom builds

I've also been doing some builds that are alittle more out side the box. This one is a little single axle rat rod.

Still a ways to go on this rat but its a fun build :bounce:

Wow nice rides! I started one of this rat rods, but I only printed out body of 32' ford deuce coupe. I hope one day I will have the time to do the rest.

Started putting the truck back together while i was doing some milling today. A little bit of paint really changes the whole look of a build

Thanks Russ, I'll keep an eye out. A chassis kit with front axle, front suspension and steering linkage would be nice!

Re: The big bad thread of Russ's custom builds

Russ have you ever thought about making one of those sleepers out of a solid block? Eliminate the screws and add some serious heft and traction to a truck.

I know it! LOL! And Russ doesn't help either! The Rat Rods came about because I was bored one day and we were talking on the phone. Next thing I know, he's taking my money and I have a new project!

I saw that trailer on YouTube once. Not sure I would want to ride that low to the ground under a giant concrete beam. Be some serious anus puckering going on.
