Nicely done! What tracks & sprockets are you using? They seem familiar but don't recall from where.

Re: CASE dozer by ERTL

The sprockets and tracks are from http://www.veroma-modellbau.eu/startseite.html
But the track width is a bit smaller as the original. That was done on a milling machine by my buddy...

Nice Job, I am also looking at a conversion of ERTL Dozer, they are all diecast and heavey, perfect for a dozer.

Re: CASE dozer by ERTL

Those tracks are plastic but you can get metal ones that look just like those on Ebay that are metal from a place om Canada. Ed

Re: CASE dozer by ERTL

When the model is finished I´ll see how strong ist is. On the one hand I can add more weight, on the oter hand it would be helpful to fix a 5x5 millimeter L-profile on the tracks to get more grip.

what motor did you use. i coveted on couple years ago. i used 90 degree gear boxes but keep striping gears.

Re: CASE dozer by ERTL

I use RB-motors with a ratio of 75:1. If they are not strong enough I´ll take the 100:1.

Some steps ahead...
The rear pasrt of the body is fixed by just one screw behind the seat. The front of the hood is fixed by the two bolts. The gap of the bolts is adjusted to the thickness of the front part of the hood, so they are hidden behind the frontgrill...

Re: CASE dozer by ERTL

It works! For the drive motors I use two Servonaust S10 speed controllers. Lifting the blade with a gear rack works very good! Here are the first videos of the test:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxtQJeTL6T8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycPm1YIARI4

The track tensioners will get harder springs, the rest runs very well...

Last week a plumber got robbed here in this region, but I got an alibi...
I guess theight will be about 4,5 - 5kg.
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...0h-sr-2978.jpg

By pushing the muffler, teh main switch is engaged:
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...0h-ss-c266.jpg

Today I changed the springs in the track tensioners by some stronger ones. We´ll see what happens at the next test drive...

Re: CASE dozer by ERTL

Nice work! Is the blade lift motor a dual output shaft 90 degree gear motor turning a gear for each side rack? Thanks for the build thread and pictures!

Jim

Re: CASE dozer by ERTL

Hello Jim!
A geared motor drives a bevel gear drive that delivers the torque to both sides and drives the rack. It may be seen on a photo some answers erlier.
