scratch built D11 130pounds
1 Attachment(s)
my D11 dozer my dad and I built this past winter 130 pounds blade is 24 inches wide just to give an idea of size. the Cat still has custom decals and lights that have yet to be installed . the cab over semi seen in the one pic is a full custom (my dad made the cab). the two dump boxes are also homemade minus the chassis.

Re: scratch built D11 130pounds
Would anyone know who to talk to about a planetary gear reduction fot the drives would be nice to use a larger sprocket ?

Re: scratch built D11 130pounds
how long did the 12 volt battery last im building one now using a car battery nicebuild looks awsome how does it well does it push in the dirt jim
|
Re: scratch built D11 130pounds
I used a agm 12 volt 18 ah agm battery lasted about 45 min but had very low power to push dirt it was fine to push snow but that's about it .what I found is that when I test the voltage at each motor with a sabertooth 2x25 I was only getting 6.7 volts to a motor . I would recommend to find some large higher voltage lipos turned my dozer from being a turd in the dirt to having all the power I need plus it last twice as long with out such a drop in power as the battery gets low.

Re: scratch built D11 130pounds
It will easily push a full blade of dirt( about 24 inch blade) easily but that's with the lipo 14.8s with the lead acid or agm 12 volt it struggled I would recommend a gear reduction just to slow it down a bit

Re: scratch built D11 130pounds
Hello,
Your steel dozer is fantastic. Inspired me to build my own out of steel. Currently in the drawing stage. My question is, what Linear Acutators did you use? Thanks |
Re: scratch built D11 130pounds
I used a pair of 225lb eight inch long actuators for the front

Re: scratch built D11 130pounds
That is a sweet dozer. I bet it’s fun & works well at 130lbs.
