Will's dump truck

Will43209 wanted a good starter truck for his son. We decided on a rear wheel drive,14"box,65t motor & a after trany gear reduction.the cab will be yellow.
So this is what I have so far.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5407.jpg
Instead of spending the big bucks on a reduction unit, decided to freddy one together.:D
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5411.jpg
Plus there tamiya gears.
Then did a Freddy on the fuel tank.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5421.jpg
Now the guts.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5420.jpg
Just had to set the box & cab on er,so Will can show his son.

Not a whole lot else to say other than good lookin truck Fred. Do have to agree with Lynn though. I for sure coulda predicted this wrong by thinking it would come out black.

Great looking truck! Man, if I could have had one of these when I was 10. I probably would have done a little better in school. Ha ha. I turned out just fine. Now I have a good job, so I can have toys like this anyhow, but I sure had to wait a few years. Kids these days have it made! :D

Re: Will's dump truck

Well I'm glad you boys like er,now as long as Will's son likes it? All is good!
Nathan, If my dad used this type of motivation driver on me as a kid.
I'de of been a brain surgeon or something along them lines. Not some old wore out mechanic/landscaper,buildin adult toys just to keep hotdogs & pb&j on the daily menu.
Hopefully today can get the screw drive completed,& mount down the dump box.
Then figure out the tailights, was going to use stock rear bumper. But after holding it in place & getting a good look at it. I'm gunna have to talk Will into one of my taillight plates made for a d/truck.:D
Guys thanks for the comments & complements.
& of course,Thanks for lookin!

Freddy as a brain surgeon....... That's a sight I just don't ever want to see!!!!!
That just scares me!!!!!!

Re: Will's dump truck

I knew you couldn't go very long without another black truck:rolleyes: All kidding aside, black rc trucks are not all that bad. Just don't want another in 1:1 scale, real pain to keep clean! And they have to be clean to look good.

I'm glad you turned out this way instead of a brain surgeon. I'd hate for you to Freddy-up someone's brain! lol

The truck looks really good! I suppose it is only yellow because you're giving it to someone else. :) Can't wait for more.

I'll have to negotiate something like this with my parents..... :D

Re: Will's dump truck

Yes he is! :) We looked at these trucks for about 3 years, until I finally decided to get some. Its a great motivational tool for my kids anyway. This boy was failing big time. (How do you fail gym???). But he's been getting A's and B's now! :) So I'm happy too. I told my 5 year old, if he didn't get kicked out of preschool I'd get him something nice. He's been getting up at 6 every morning, brush his teeth, wash his face AND get dressed by himself! Then he'll come wake me up, saying he don't wanna be late for school! :) So he's getting a semi custom Knight Hauler. Of with gear reduction. :) So now Dad wil have someone to play with. :). Take care.

That´s right Will. I think everybody have a time in his life when he is failing -
I had have this time too :D and it´s a wonderful idea to give him a price if he get better. And in addition he gets also a beautiful hobby. Perhaps he build his next Truck himself

Re: Will's dump truck

Yeah Papabaer, he's doing a lot better and maybe we willl build one someday. This hobby is fun, and it'll keep the kids out of trouble. There's a big difference in kids who have hobbies and sports, then those that don't. I just want to do something we can all enjoy as a family. :) Take care.

It's probably a shelf queen in a cabinet now and he doesn't want to get finger prints on it or break open the air tight seal.....
