AGCO-Hesston windrower

Hi together!

Hereby I want to present my actual project:
The scale should be about 1/16 (as far as I could take dimensions from the pics in the brochure on the AGCO website...)

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/cc0h-ej-e223.jpg
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/cc0h-ek-0874.jpg

I´ll take two geared morors for the transmission...

Today I´ll start with the cab and the drawings for the laser-cut blades for the razor bar...Finally I want to work with ist like a big one.

Looking great so far. Can't wait to see it finished.

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

Very neat! I'm also looking forward to seeing the progress. Discbine, or haybine head? I think a discbine head would be a lot easier to build! It could probably be functional too.

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

Today I connected the frame of the mower to the chassis and I started with some parts for the cab:

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...0h-ew-53fd.jpg

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...0h-ex-2bb2.jpg

The drive motors for the front wheels and the mower discs are already ordered. For the discs I´ll take 2 brushless motors (12 Volts, 31000rpm) with a belt transmission to the discs (ratio 3:1).
The next parts to be ordered will be the tothed belts and pulleys for the discs.

mazdaparts 07-22-2011 04:33 PM

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

The TLT used a toothed belt for the transmission if I recall correctly. Pulleys might be harder to find unless you have a different source

Grainfarmer 07-24-2011 03:52 AM

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

I´ll take them from this supplier:
http://www.maedler.de/
...gears, joint shafts, pulleys, belts...they got a big choice of standard parts...

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

...again some progress...
The laser cut discs are prepared...:

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

Lil´ update: all motors ar fixed. I Hope I can filler the hood tomorrow...

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...0h-f9-c399.jpg
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/file...0h-fa-33e8.jpg

The drivemotors for the razor discs make 30.000rpm at 12Volts....with a ratio of 3:1 in the pulleydrive I think about balancing the discs...
I´m not sure if it´s necessary, but I guess it will minimize vibrations...

Very nice. Are you going to shave the little pins off the tires, or just get some better ones?

Grainfarmer 08-31-2011 02:41 PM

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

I´ll cut them off. Maybe I put some other tires on, but I haven´t been looking for some yet.

Any new progress Frank?

Espeefan 12-26-2011 04:14 PM

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

Wow. I really like those headlights! Mind if I ask where you found them? The cab looks really good now, with all those lights mounted. I like the new tires too.

Re: AGCO-Hesston windrower

Some progress......yes.

Got the parts from my buddy who made the paintjob. Now I´m assembling the parts. Cab and rims still have to be painted. Pictures will follow soon.
Here you can find the headlights (No. 9):

Next springtime I will make a test run I think.
But before I will have to take some pictures outdoors for a report for a german model magazine...
I ´show them when they´re ready.
