My King Hauler and such

I've had this King hauler for just about a year but im just now making a thread for it but here are some pics of what she looked like when i built her and what she looks like now....

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...0810001435.jpg

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...810001435a.jpg

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...1944a-Copy.jpg

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...11945-Copy.jpg

With this i had added a new visor that i built, full fenders from PMD and Super Singles

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...12029-Copy.jpg

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...712112029a.jpg

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...712112029b.jpg

Last week i bought some used PMD peterbilt steps and i just now got them installed...

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCN2241.jpg

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCN2242.jpg

I also decided since i have my truck torn apart i would swap out my steering servo for a high torque one and would paint my transmission case... I'm painting the case white first so when i get Cummins beige it will show up much better with fewer coats... now i just have to wait for my paint to get her...

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCN2240.jpg

Thanks for looking!! thats all for now but i will be sure to take plenty more pictures!! hopefully it will cool down below the mid 90's so i can run the truck outside instead of in the basement.....

Re: My fairly basic King Hauler

Just a suggestion, not a criticism at all, when I had a King Hauler with Wedico battery boxes I removed the Tamiya mounting bracket and hung the steps from the plastic floor board. It eliminated the gap those brackets create and put the steps and fuel tanks in a straight line instead of the steps being lower. Just a thought. Keep the build going.

Basic King:eek::eek: Not very basic with a brushless motor in it!! Little by little you will get the truck you were thinking of when you started. Sometimes that is the way you have to go.

Truck looks good with the tricolor paint scheme.:D

Re: My fairly basic King Hauler

Thanks guys!! i will have to keep that idea of mounting the steps directly to the floor board in mind... i am going to wait and see what it looks like before i do anything though

Re: My fairly basic King Hauler

It's a good looking truck. It might be a little basic to you, but they all start somewhere. I like the paint work and the Cummins C. I'm a bit of a Cummins fan myself. I see you have an Aeromax in the background too. Sometimes it's amazing how short the wheel base is on these trucks, when built stock! We don't often see many stock length King Haulers.

I just love the way the paint job has come out, were the PMD fenders hard to install? gonna get me a set soon in the Polished Alu.

Great job on the rig.

Re: My fairly basic King Hauler

Hi the only thing that this rig needs now is a longer chassis super paint job .
The only thing basic about your truck is the body shell
dave:D:rolleyes:

Re: My fairly basic King Hauler

Thanks guys and gal lol

The Cummins logo... i made that myself with a decal kit, its a testors decal kit you can get it for around $10 but i would suggest buying the clear paper to go with it so you wont have a white background

The Fenders... They weren't hard to install i just had to drill two holes on each side but make sure you mount them low enough so your trailers wont scratch the fenders up

I would really like to get a longer chassis as the stock is incredibly short but i would really need them pre-drilled as i am limited on tools so if anyone knows i would be very interested.....

Your talking about this one correct? http://www.testors.com/product/0/919...m_Decal_System I was wondering if it was worth buying.

Mike

Micro-Mark sells a similar decal system I have used with success.

The paint job alone is beyond basic and makes your truck 'pop'.
Good job, Joe

YoungGunz 08-17-2011 10:18 PM

Re: My fairly basic King Hauler

Straywolf.... that is the one and it is definitely worth buying i would just say buy more sheets of the decal paper to go with it.. http://www.testors.com/product/0/920..._Paper_-_Clear
i would get the clear if you dont want to mess with a white background

Smokin Joe- Thanks for the compliment i appreciate it!

Re: My fairly basic King Hauler

That's a really nice trailer you've got there! It looks good behind your truck. Have you thought about painting the trailer frame at all? It would be neat if you could tie some orange and silver into the trailer, so it matches the paint on the truck. Maybe on the rub rails and frame?

I also like a lot your dumper trailer, is it possible to post a picture of the buttom of the dump? I'm planning to do a dumper and I have a big interest for that kind styrene structure...

Great looking rig the red/white/black paint job really makes the trucks stand out compared to a single colour paint job and the sun visor changes the look of the cab :D:D:D
