Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
This photoshoot is about the Modelshow Europe.
http://www.modelshow-europe.com/ This is a show specially for construction equipment, heavy transport and cranes, and is for all scales and materials, such as Lego, Meccano, Fisher technik, diecast models and of course RC models. You can also trade and buy lots of stuff. It's held once a year in the center of Holland and attracks lots of enthousiasts from all over Europe. I made a serie of photo's from the RC models in the 1:14 scale from the last edition of march 2011. |
Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
I will kick off with a model of an old Daf. It's a model 2600 and when the original was released in 1962 it was highly acclaimed for it's revolutionairy cab and comfort for the long distance transport.
This model is selfbuild, the cab is made out of PU resin. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192591.jpg |

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
The next model is from a builder i know from the dutch forum.
It's a conversion of a Volvo F12 from Wedico to a Third generation F16. It's a 8x4 heavy transport tractor and the chassis and tower behind the cab are completely selfbuild from brass. The trailer is a Faymondville lowloader, but this is a wooden mockup for the real yet to build trailer. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192595.jpg |

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
This trailer is fully steered, to make a short turningcircle, and is made from an example of an Broshuis trailer. The construction is from aluminium.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
The next model is from a pile rigger, and the builder works with the company that builds the real version.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
A detail off the mast, the steel piece will be replaced by the actual mast.
The model is completely hydraulic, with no less then 18 different functions. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192606.jpg |
Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
The next crane is from two builders. They made two cranes, but one is finished to get rid off the child deseases as we call it.
It's a 12 year build and completely out of metal and weighs 60 kg. I made much more photo's on another show which i will place as well, but here a nice preview. It's an Liebherr LTM 1400, a 400 metric ton crane with super lift. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192609.jpg |
Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
The crane is fully hydraulic and is capable of lifting 60 kg with the boom in upright position.
In the back another crane from one of the two builders, a Gottwald 850 metric ton crane with derrick and superlift ballast. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192610.jpg |

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
This is a Titan heavy transport tractor. If you look closely, you will recognise a Mercedes cab.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
It's an oilfield rig typically used in the middle east.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
This is a Man Diesel tipper truck from a German builder.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
This is a Daf N2500 tipper truck, and the original one is in the Daf museum. You will probably recognise a International Paystar 5000, and that is correct.
In the early seventies Daf had a short coöperation with International, where this is the only real result from. It's an International with a Daf motor and Daf badge. Some 30 or so trucks were build. This is a 6x6, and the model is very nice. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192628.jpg |
Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
One from the side. I like this model a lot, but i think i prefer it with the International badge on it.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
The next one is also a familiar truck. It's a Ginaf, but the basic truck is an GMC/REO.
Ginaf is a small dutch truck builder that began with these conversions to road legal versions, but now build new trucks based on Daf components. They are in the special and ultra heavy class trucks, almost every truck is a one off. You probably know them from the Dakar rally, were they race with the trucks with independent suspension. This however is the start from Ginaf. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192630.jpg |

I always like if there is attention to detail, also for the accesseries around the track. This is a mobile firecontrolunit, complete with interior.

For those who are interested, the map is of the city of Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
The next model is a Scania 12x4x6 heavy transport tractor.
It is used with a special build lowloader with extra long neck. This is for better weight distribution. You also notice the cut off roof, which is a common thing here in Holland, It's allowed to drive with the boom of a crane or pile rigger over the cab, as long as you don't go higher then 4 meters. This delivers some special trucks, often the cab of a car carrier is used, because they are low, so you can put a car over the roof. There are lot's of small companies here in Holland that make these conversions. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192636.jpg |

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
Here one from the back of the cab. The tower is a low version, and the bullbar is to protect the cab for the crane boom.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
A Scania 8x4 tractor, this one with the normal cab.

Re: Modelshow Europe 19 March 2011
This excavator is completely selfbuild, and is, as far as i know the most powerfull and technically advanced excavator in the 1:14 scale.
It has full hydraulics, even the tracks and the slewing, and the pump has an servo controlled backplate, which makes this a model with load sensing. It weighs about 60 kg and works on 60 bar pressure. It has a demolition boom, an can be fitted with an long boom. It also has a hydraulic hammer, able to break trough two inch thick concrete. This is an terrible beast of a machine. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/v...anP3192646.jpg Here a movie from a German forum with the hydraulic hammer. The pumpnoise is from the other excavator, this machine makes practically no noise, well except when it's hammering of course. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqcYg...embedded#at=89 |
