duratoy conveyor
I have seen a video some where for this conveyor, but do you think I can find it again?:confused: Some one has made it r/c controlled.
Any help in finding it would be great. |

Re: duratoy conveyor
I bought mine off ebay a couple months ago. But you can get one from DHS Diecast. I haven't finished converting mine completely to motor drive and possibly remote yet.
http://www.dhsdiecast.com/shop/produ...roduct_id=6031 Here's a picture of mine Stepside took, but you can't see the motor setup. The gearmotor I had laying around turned the wrong direction so I added two spur gears to reverse direction but the torque made the thin steel on the Sandmaster flex popping the teeth over one another. I'm going to get a DC motor next to try with direct drive through a Lovejoy jaw coupling. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...inFever014.jpg |
Re: duratoy conveyor
On mine I have a 12v windshield wiper motor you can switch direction and they have plenty of torque.to power it I use a 12v power supply mounted on the hopper that way if needed you could put power to a trackhoe or anything12v operated.I haven't got the door ex operating but I have ideas on that:D

Re: duratoy conveyor
Man, there is some really nice stuff on that web site

Re: duratoy conveyor
Any pictures of the drive setup would be great.
Thanks Paul |
Re: duratoy conveyor
i dont have any pics but i will try to get some .on the drive i took a bushing the same size as the turn crank and threaded the same thread as the wndshield wiper motor.when you run it backwards, which is the direction the conveyor needs to run it will tighten up on motor shaft.i used the mount plate for the motor and put holes on plate from the turn crank support to hold the motor :)

The only other things I did to it was had some sheet metal bent to raise up the hopper and I cut a 2x6 to size to raise up the lower hopper. I think I also got 10-32 bolts 1.5" long to mount the motor to the hopper. |
Re: duratoy conveyor
Nice post Rod, thanks for sharing the pics and an itemized list of what you used.

Hey Neil have you purchased any of these belts from this supplier before? RcGUYFARMS great video I see you have a motor on the shute how do you time it to only open then stop when fully open? And the same for closing? Thanks Paul |
Re: duratoy conveyor

Re: duratoy conveyor
Great pictures and detail, rcguyfarms this was the video i was thinking of.
When we receive our units I will measure the belt lenght unless told before by one of the owners who have one. Then will contact that site Neil and get a price from them. I wanted to make a stronger version of the Bruder conveyors I have so this may be the solution for the belt. |

Re: duratoy conveyor
All parts from servocity are now ordered so should get them in 10days or so. The conveyors should ship tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for your help I will post some pics when it comes together. Paul |
Re: duratoy conveyor
If you guys want to auto action on the outlet door, Robs almost there. All you have to do is cut or file notches at 90 deg to the arm attachment point on the wheel. Install a micro switch with the same 12 volts as the motor runs on using the normally open contacts. Momentarily supply power and the switch closes and will run till it drops into the next slot and shuts off. I hope this make sense as this is how our rail switches work at our live steam track.

Re: duratoy conveyor
Here is a video of my Duratoy Conveyor, thanks for all of the info given by many. This one has a separate remote to control the belt and the shute functions all for under $20.

Re: duratoy conveyor
Uh Huh! I was just about to start scouring your posts to find this :)
Sorry had to cut and run early, had a not so important issue with a phone bill that my wife wanted me to fix up immediately.. and well, gotta keep 'em happy I guess :) Good to meet you guys and hopefully I'll have my machine up and running for next meet. |
Re: duratoy conveyor
Cool thread! A nice option for loading trucks, if you don't have a loader or excavator. It would just require someone to shovel some dirt by hand, onto the conveyer. Thanks for posting all the information guys. Someday I might have to get one of these.

A short video showing the automation of the conveyor now fitted with a vibration unit as the ground rubber tends to hold in the hopper. Will post another view when I can upload it. |

Re: duratoy conveyor
I'm don['t know about the Duratoy unit. But I was impressed by the child-powered conveyer:

Re: duratoy conveyor
The vibrator was a smart addition. It seems to work well, good job. Maybe its me but I can't see the video posted about the child powered conveyor.

Re: duratoy conveyor

Re: duratoy conveyor
Roughly what is the wall angle in the hopper? I am looking at building a hopper for rubber and don't want issues.
Thanks |
