today I thought I might start documenting my build as this is my very first RC Truck that I,m very excited to start. first off i just completed the chassis, which I plan to stretch 6" :D that I,m still waiting to cut. Then for the mechanicle section of the build I so far have two HITECH servos, a DX6I with battries, the trailer light kit, and by mistake two truck electricle units :( now after some previous browsing are now invalid to me. So in the mean time I'll figure out how to sell those later and get a MFU :rolleyes: .

Also!, Just yesterday I came across my sisters nail polishes(they were in the living room and I was cleaning up the house). After looking at the different colours of heavy metal flake's, Candy's and mettalic's, I really thought about doing my truck in a deep candy purple with lighter purple seminole, edged in hot pink, Using those nailpolshes :rolleyes: . So after doing some research, I found that there were lots of model cars and trucks done in it in forums and stuff :) . Then I came accross a turtorial on how to do it (http://modelpaint.tripod.com/nailpolish101.htm ) :D . But before I even think about trying it down the road I wanna know what you guys think about it, just to be on the safe side.

All I know is nailpolish chips easy, I've used to mark stuff on motors when I've done jobs and sometimes the marks chip right off with little effort.

IMHO, if I had thoughts of painting my truck with 2 shades of purple and one of pink nail polish, I would see a doctor

I takes a good man to paint his rig pink & purple cause the crap he will get from his mates, but that's the kind of colour that will get it notice by everyone, look at SnP's KW it stands out from the rest cause it is different from the usual black/blue/yellow/red/white rigs...

Haha I take no offence to joe, its all kewl :D but I just wanna do the two shades of purple in it because it has that heavy metal flake, then do pink pinstriping around the seminole. The reason for the colors is that my dads W900L is purple, so I wanted to follow it :)

hay now , there's nothing wrong with the "girl" colors on a guys truck ever see a guy driving a pink cement mixer ? Joe , I'm sure you've seen it down your way . Berks Products got 1 painted up in the -est cancer theme ;) . I just saw a purple W900 today , heavy on the metal flake , not to bad :thinking:;)

hey when i use to put model cars together i used nail polish with clear coat over and let me tell you when i entered them in competition i got more looks and people were interested in the colours and when they read in the description that it was nail polish used they were quite in awe with the fact that somebody did this..besides they make nice colours and like the guys say build for yourself not for what others want to see...your builds are all about YOU...just had to add my 1 1/4 cents:p:p:p

Nothing wrong with purple trucks. I know of some really sharp ones. I'd consider painting mine purple too, but not probably not solid.

Ok guys leave him alone. We all know that's a nice case tho, John has a matching pursahh...."European Shoulder Bag"/"sachel" that matches it really well for his controllers. Indian Jones carried one. The pink and purple combo brings out the color of his eyes LOL.:p Don't worry Jon I got your back buddy.;) Pink is the new Black.

I think that there are a few things that guys can get away with thats purple or pink. Thats Semi's, hot rods, and harleys. So i say go for the Purple!

well just to get back on the radar, i built my truck and got her running good except for the fact that I broke the little thing that looks like a trailer hitch on my shift servo, but other than that shes good as far as running goes. My trailer is all built which its the box trailer that Tamiya sells(my cat likes riding around on it). I would post pics but theres no camera around that is available but I will document the customizing and fabricating as its my first real hack job. Then make it the nice deep candy purple with the lighter Seminole :D

As far as parts go im gonna stretch the frame first, I have a 6" stretch kit from PMD(wonder if i should get the frame rails instead) among a set of "Bull pipes" and a Texas bumper with the L.E.Ds, I have 2 sets of the under bunk lights which I might tie in, as I also have a extra set of cab lights from them.

Sounds like you are off to a great planned start...not to mention purple is my favorite colour also:D....and that i am a huge fan of kw trucks

Well here is my first picture of my little pride and joy, We have a long journey ahead of us. Sorry for the bad quality picture because of those i pods, but I fabbed up some temporary stack mounts from the steps off the old fuel tanks and put my side lights on and the PMD fuel tanks and bumper. I'm still trying to score some polystyrene so i can start shaping this truck and I'm currently waiting to cut the frame for a temporary 6" stretch before I can get my frame rails. This is all for now, might post some more pics sooner or later. Gotta say this little truck has made the better part of last year and the beginning of this year alot more bearable and I,m pretty happy I,m able to be a part of this awesome community.

I like that paint job who cares if it is purple and pink matter of fact my next truck is going to be pink and purple I am also going to get a matching speedo and a pink boa. John gave me his guy he uses. LOL.

Sorry for the terrible quality pictures and links but I'm having trouble uploading them into here, but I'm back up and going again with my truck after a long absence due to scarce funds. As you can see I'm in the process of a coffin bunk(currently modding the base plate that it mounts to). After hacking it all apart and figuring it out its actually pretty fun being a complete beginner. More to come with better quality pictures!

Got some more progress done, 6" stretch done and tapered the tail. after I'm finished playing with the bunk I'm gonna move everything back for a hood stretch pretty soon!
