Thanks Guys!
Logger, there both gunna have screw drives.
Sorry no pics of progress till I git my camera looked at.This is the second one I wore out. You'de think a $600.dollor camera would be good for more than 7500 pics, then again be'n in my shop w/alum chips fly'in all over might have some play on there life span.:D
Hopefully today I'll be up & shootin again. But trailer is almost done! Now I can start on the monster dump that's gunna pull this cow around the job site. Man,I'm gunna really have to stuff this baby full of battery packs to feed these two screw drives.
Here's a pic of what I'm out to copy.(I HOPE!)

Thats some serious dirt moving there. We dont have that sort of truck and trailer combo around here wonder why? My guess its a weight issue pretty cool. I live in Maryland.

Re: Now I'm gunna move some dirt.

Yea Man!I can't wait to see this beast done also!
Hey Tc1,you don't miss a trick, this one is only gunna have 3 axles in the rear:p & if it's only rear drive, none of them will lift.can't quit figure out if it's worth it to keep lift axle from spinnin when lifted. I can see that gittin into somethin. When this babies full of dirt, kinda want as much of the motor gittin to the ground via axles as possible.
Well back in the pics again!:D

Guys, thanks for the comments & complements!

What no ribs on the trailer sides?? Your slippin' Freddy:rolleyes: You need an 8X8 with at least 1 lift axle! I have an idea for a powered lift axle. Would need a seperate driveshaft for it but it should work.

Your looking real good there Fred now what are you going to pull it with? I know it will be Black and a tri axle going to need a lot of power. Ed :)

Fred, seems like the variety of trucks & trailers is endless...but you are trying to build them all! Awesome trailer and I'm sure the truck be equally cool. The 1:1 looks like a centipede - would hate to buy tires for it.

Yea Ed,it's a tri-axle.W/front drive axle. Kinda looks like this.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4799.jpg
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4800.jpg
made the third axle so I can adjust spring tension.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4798.jpg
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4807.jpg
Had to slip a cab & box on er,just to git the feelin.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4794.jpg
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4795.jpg
Then to REALLY git the feelin, had to stick the trailer behind it:D
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4802.jpg
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4804.jpg
Just the idea of movin dirt w/this baby,& then the dust cloud from all the axles!:D Is makin me hawnee!
Yea Tc1, Kinda like the ribs better on the barb-o-que than on the sides of my trailer.Man that would look like real shyt w/a bunch of dirt stuck to it :p I made some & didn't like the way they turned out.It was really hard to keep them perfect. Plus would of ment a bunch more holes & screws. The shop I work w/wanted to tape them on:eek:
Thanks guys for the comments & complements

I buy parts from all over, alot of them are from used rigs I purchase.
That front axle is a carson.I get them from pmd.
Guys thanks!
Well, got the screw drive done for truck.Went to install in truck & realized I made one for a trailer:eek:

The trailer drive is opposite from the truck.Kinda hard to install in truck when motor has to go where diffs are.Works much better this way.

Fred question, the servo you use to shift the transmission what size are they and do you have any problem with them? They look small. I have to shift the transmission and the auxiliary and would like smaller servo for the room because I want to put one of those 1/12 cat motors in it. Ed
