I just made my reservations for the Best Western. I've stayed there for about 8yrs now it's not bad but not as nice as the Holiday Inn where I've never stayed.

I guess they're having some of the auction in another building next door. First time for that. I guess since there's two auctions this time.
Best Western =About 1 mile further. What rate did Holiday charge? I'm in at BW for $76 per night.

Re: Cabin Fever expo ,York , PA

I talked to the coordinator yesterday again to make sure of a space for a pit for us and he was on it. Today, while I was emailing another member here I got a phone call from Gary the man in charge there asking me what kind of dirt I wanted again for my digging pit. We talked about how big of a space we needed and he has his old boat pond that isn't used there anymore because he has a bigger one now. He said the old pond could be made as large as 30'X60' and leave one side open for access. What I need to know who is going to attend and what they're bringing. Maybe you East Coast guys will want to bring some road trucks and buildings. I don't have anything like that so I'm more geared to the digging part of it.

Re: Cabin Fever expo ,York , PA

I'll be bringing: wheeled skid loader, rubber tracked loader, 2 tonka dt's, mack dump, dragline & dozer.:)

Re: Cabin Fever expo ,York , PA

As a on-road guy, if I don't have have to work at the 15th I'll bring my 2 wreckers, my rigid and a king with van trailer. I know the 16th I'm free so If any of the East Coasters are thinking of going let me know

Re: Cabin Fever expo ,York , PA

I'll be bringing All my stuff running or not but seems the dump truck will get the most use maybe the tractor and lowboy for moving equipment ( by the way $50.00 / hr :p )

Re: Cabin Fever expo ,York , PA

Steve if you get your dump stuck the tow company charges $250.00 for a Medium hook and for the heavy hauler its $450.00 payable before the truck is set back down on its sneakers.

Anybody that exhibits on Saturday is usually invited to a small party that evening with food and drink sponsored by the venders. Last year it was at the show in the lobby but two and three years ago we were at a industrial museum in York.

I'd love to see it Steve. I hope I can bring the fleet down. Just need to cross my fingers.

Is there still going to be room for us on-road guys?

I don't think that would be a problem. If the "old boat pond"(dirt containment) is set up like I mentioned before, it can be as large as 30'x60' but we need to see how the first run works to know how much room we'll need in the future. I hope this could get as large as some of the European shows. This avenue is not covered at this show and will go nicely with the "real boat pond" group and the live steam railroaders.
Besides if we could get some dozers, graders and scrapers there we could build you a road:D

I'm definately interested in bringing the trucks down. Its close by too. It definately would be awesome to see something the size of the euro shows.

Well, I am looking forward to this weekend. I am heading over on Friday to help set up the dirt and check out the auction. I'll probably build a climbing road to the top of the dirt pile where Steve's 9W will sit and then on Saturday we can build a road back down the other side using the rc equipment.:) Should be a blast.
