Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Nice build!! I can't imagine working on something that small.

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Thanks Brian, it is a tamiya gearbox that I seal up to keep dirt out.
It is a blast to operate. I didn't want to get it dirty because I might sell it so, I figured loading stone would show how much power and agility it has...I just finished it this afternoon and haven't gotten the hang of running it smoothly yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwDHgERW5xk |
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
boy you got some power packed in that lil guy  looks good , Scott
|
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
very nice job i like the tracked skid loaders better than the tired ones but i ran 2 brand new 247 cat track loaders and they was bad in real life the front idlers kept going out they was brand new i trashed 2 in 10 days about caught one on fire cus the track and front boggie or idler was locked up and the forman said to run it lol but yea that is an awsome job on your bruder i like it lol i want one lol

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Thanks ModelMan, it can be tedious.
Thanks Steve, I was surprised how much power it has myself. When I first powered it up the bec from the saber tooth esc wasn't enough to run everything so, I added a 5 volt 5 amp (continuous) bec feeding just the lift and curl. |
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Scott that is insane! It seems to have a lot of power to spare. very nice.

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Very nice conversion, you were pretty smooth on the controls too. Do you mind if I ask about how long it took to do.
|
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Very nice build as usual Small Haul. You mentioned you might sell it, if you do how much?
|
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
I was asked for more info on this build and thought I would just post it up here for everyone to benifit.
Here is a parts list of what I used to build it: Nomadio Sensor radio Tamiya gearbox 2 x slotcar motors (tamiya motors are 3.5 volts and fry quickly) Saber tooth motor controller 5 volt 5 amp (continuous) bec Hitec Digital HS-7955 TG lift servo 2 x Align Digital DS410M servos for bucket curl |
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Nice conversion:D I still don't see how you guys get all of the necessary components inside one of these little vehicles:eek:

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader

Well done! And thanks for listing the parts used. Helps for those of us not experienced with RC components.

I charged a 7.2v (6 cell nimh) 1500mah losi mini-t battery and ran it for over an hour today to see how much power it uses and it was still going strong. So, I don't really know how long one charge will last but I would say it is efficient.:) |
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Awesome build. Can't wait.....
|
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Great build! Thanks for showing what motors you used with the Tamiya gearbox. I've been stuck on my Bruder conversion looking for replacements for the stock Tamiya ones. Looked at everything except slotcars - DOH!
|
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Nice build Scott! You should have built two or three in the process so you can keep one. You still should let Scotty up here try to break it:D

Scott, that's really nice. I believe I would like one of those! Just something else on the list now.

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Well done...I admire you guys that can make models that small work... Any thing smaller than about 1/8 scale is too small for me...

I improved the bucket curl mounts. The mounts on the prototype loader work fine but, they don't like nice. This design has more rigidity and protects the servos from getting hit: http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...rlmountmod.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...lmountmod2.jpg With the servo screw heads milled down it allows the two servos (sitting back to back) to fit nicely in the lift assembly and creates a rigid assembly. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...illedscrew.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...lledscrew2.jpg I also made beefier aluminum drive hubs. I'll post up pics later when I get the 4-40 screws that I ordered for them. |

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Hey Scott nice work and boy is that thing fast. It just about the right size for your Tonka truck. Ed :)

Another photo of the new bucket curl mounts. If you look closely you will see a small kick plate between the servo and the hoop mount. It locks the bottom of the servos tight against the bottom plate. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f.../kickplate.jpg |
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
another great conversion Scott, super work as always, and thanks for all the great pic on how you make these work. I am sure is a big help for alott of us thinking of doing one.

Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
yep the machines you build are awsome i wouldn't have thought of useing servos for drives or putting in the twin gear drive box very nice work
|
Re: Bruder Delta tracked loader
Scott, thanks for the awesome photos and for posting a parts list. It's a big help and very informative.

Since I had to order more parts, I have a more accurate list: Radio system Tamiya twin motor gearbox shims for tamiya gearbox assembly (you loose about 10 to 20% of gear contact on some of them if you leave them sloppy) silicone to seal gearbox up (makes it last a very long time) 2 x slotcar motors (tamiya motors are 3.5 volts and fry quickly) Aluminum stock to make drive hubs 4-40 screws & washers to secure gearbox to chassis Saber tooth motor controller 5 volt 5 amp (continuous) bec Hitec Digital HS-7955 TG lift servo 2 x hitec hs-5065mg digital servos for bucket curl Hitec servo programmer 3" Y harness to join the 2 bucket curl servos 2 x 12" male servo leads to extend the bucket curl servos heat shrink for all of the bucket curl servo wiring piece of bicycle inner tube for lift lever cover (need to post pics) 4-40 rod and clevis for lift lever lead weight and 1 boat load of patience:D |
