I'm just outside of Brantford, little town of Scotland just down the road from Paris. I'm waiting for the delivery of a 6x6 truck one of the Cross-RC just a different site Less than ebay. I really want some construction pieces but only rc4wd has any close that I can see so far but others can chime in for where to get any.

Thanks very much! I love the screaming Jimmy's too! Seems as though people love em or hate em! They have to be one of the longest running engine designs in existence. Back in the day the 71's made a great boat engine because every logging camp on the coast had parts if you got into trouble. Now there's no fish boats, no logging camps and no 2 stroke Detroits....Am I sensing a pattern?

What are the engines you're installing for?

Sorry to hijack this thread...

Marine Corp Lav 25 the last few orders we have been scavenging rebuilt packs and some new ones found in warehouses in Mexico and Australia they tell us .but we have been putting Cummins in other customers Gen 2 vehicles that used to get the Detroits. Where abouts on the Island are you located ,I go to Victoria nearly every summer to visit my parents and sister

Yes, parts are getting harder to find. We run a 4-71 in our fish boat and it has been a great engine. It's good on fuel (despite what many people think about the engines) and pushes our boat at a decent speed. We use a 4-1 reduction with a big wheel for the size of the boat and don't run it past 1800rpm.

I'm in Sooke, so not far from Victoria.

Kaptian Jack are you not going to the meet this Saturday in Kitchener, and have you been to either of the last two there? I'm the guy in the wheelchair.

No, Its a long drive to Kitchener and there are no guys around here, who are into tanks,to come along.Plus,my daughter is bringing grand children this Saturday, more fun for me...

We use to have a Link Belt yard crane with a 4-71 I believe ,seen it apart many times ! Fuel mileage wasn't a concern we were building Locomotives, Been to Sooke a couple of times ,to the Pot Holes and around to Port Renfrew ,Beautiful Land would really like to retire there, its got it all. I think about it more and more , especially after getting another winter blast today,1/2 metre drift down the driveway :(

Re: How Many Canadians?

Hey Rev you know the trails at Aps Mill are not too bad for a place to run the rigs might be fun and others could bring crawlers or trail trucks. Smooth enough for most and off road areas for others. And it's free to use when weather gets better. If someone has an area we could get indoors would be best no worries of weather.

REV73 03-14-2014 06:06 PM

Re: How Many Canadians?

I'm not familiar with Aps Mill, where exactly is it? as for an indoor place to play I have connections to the Ancaster Fair and there is a building that has a fair bit of open availability....I am sure that if enough guys around here were interested we could swing a deal to each pay a set amount and have the use of the building....I tried to round up enough guys one time last year but there was not enough interest...

Re: How Many Canadians?
