Exclusive Ready for Pikes Peak!

As some of you who follow me on Facebook may already know, I came across a pretty good deal I couldn't pass up for the new tamiya "Cascadia Truck" many of you weren't very fond of.... Well being a big fan of Mike Ryan and the Banks performance team I decided to get my inspiration from them and turn this "regular" company truck into my version of one bad race truck! I will have a full race interior, with all the external details as well, including piping, supercharger, turbo, etc... Truck will not only look fast but will be fast as I have used a brushless setup for its power plant...

The body was mainly there minus a few vents and details so here is the journey so far!

The inspiration.....

Started with this....

And here is the progress...

Put in the back wall with the window

Ready for primer
http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2f5be713.jpg

Added a lower valance to the stock bumper

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9cd608fd.jpg

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9f20a2bd.jpg

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3d6e9918.jpg

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...ps11b576d8.jpg

Quick mock up

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6ff25987.jpg

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...psfb8417c5.jpg

Painted the inside of the custom roof vent and applied pretty much ready for my paint scheme... More pics to come after paint...

No race truck is complete without a race seat in 1/14 scale !
Thanks for looking guys more to come.....

Awesome! I've seen videos of the 1:1 truck, and it never dawned on me that the newest Tamiya semi truck release could be used to model one. Good thinking. Very nice bodywork too. Impressive.

Started doing some masking
http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf5c3f07.jpg

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9a59a2b5.jpg

Paint came out pretty nice, can't wait to make my decals and throw em on!
http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...pse26b38ea.jpg

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...psd26d6669.jpg

Since the windshioed didn't have the indent in the middle I decided to keep it and just make a trim and drill 100 holes and throw some rivets in to give it that real race lexan windshield look like the real deal, couldn't finish the side windows since I ran out of rivets lol

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/...psa08fcf32.jpg

More to come...

Re: Exclusive Ready for Pikes Peak!

I have seen the older version of this truck in person. I think it had a Mercedes Diesel and ZF transmission converted to "paddle shift" The driver Mike had it on tour with the Champ car racing seires. The truck would do a full burn out, from a dead stop, thru the first 4 gears if he wanted to. built on a tube frame chassis and used truck axels and drivetrain. Cool to watch go around a race track. Some may not know but they use water to cool the brakes. Build looks awesome. Love your paint and attention to detail. we will need a video of this doing some drifting!

:D thank you bud, once I get the itch I don't stop until I've fully scratched it. (Not to say I don't add on later) but I think it's normally because you always try to one up your last build or idea, thank you for the kind words.

Thank you sir glad you like it, thanks for the video post! I can watch that all day, it's amazing how much power these bad bus out out, make the truck look light weight when in actuality it weighs 2-3 more than your standard drift car

Brian you did a fantastic job on the body work and paint.:jaw::bounce::eek::cool: Another GREAT build. Are you going to have S/S's on the rear axle? Just curious. Either way the truck is killer.

To be honest bro, I don't sleep lol, but I have a million other custom project for customers that have to get done, so while one project is drying I jump from one project to another and that's how I've been able to squeeze some time for my own trucks here and there.... I wish my hands worked as fast as my brain lol... I plan to have this truck done within the week if all goes well..
