Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Hi titandigs-when I first heard about this truck I thought it would be much bigger but I am assuming it is the correct size for the scale. It looks like it is well made and I am glad to see it is all metal, none of that plastic stuff. It's hard for me to judge the size by the pictures but do you have room for the electronics? I like the screw drive lift. Doesn't look like there would be any way possible to get hydraulics into this space. I enjoy these types of trucks and I will follow this build.
|
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
No sure about the hydraulics, when I get into it I will look a bit closer to see how much room is available. You would only need one valve and the pump, so it may be able to fit in the chassis rails?? All of the electronics is fit inside the cab including the battery, as I get into it I will post the complete build.

Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Hi Paul,
Thanks for showing. The damaged box would have made me a bit worried before opening it. I hope the model didn´t take damage. Quote:

Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
So the cabin is from some type of plastic and generally clips together and is glued with the supplied glue.

Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Hi Paul, it's nice to see the work in progress on the dumper. It will be a beautiful machine, i like the choice to paint it Komatsu yellow.:)
The roadtrain you drive is fantastic, just a little oversized for the italian roads! Bye! |

Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Truck is looking good!! Are the hand rails and other trim pcs. made of plastic? Keep the pictures coming.

The hand rails, air tanks and fuel/oil tanks are made from aluminium. The only plastic parts are the Cab and the box adjacent to the cab. |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Fantastic Build and truck Paul!! Cant wait to see more.
Ayoub |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
The box adjacent to the cab, is that where the master switch is placed?
|
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Yes Joe, the receiver is also placed in the box.

Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Wow that's turned out really sweet! nice paint job and decals too, did you print them yourself?
|
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Thanks Stuart,
The decals were done by a friend of a friend who is a sign writer, very happy with the result. |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Love it. Where does the kit come from or did I miss it somehere and did it come with the lights or was that an add to.
|
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Well done Paul!
Now for the trials & videos. |

The kit comes without the lights, sound, speed controller and radio gear but it is all sold as an option as you see with my model. Here is the link to the seller. http://www.servonaut.de/shop/product...r-gmk4000.html |

Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Since I'm a Komatsu-head, it feels good to see one rolling around. Nice job!
Ken |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
WOW!!! that's quite a pile of sand that came out of the bucket... it'd be interesting to know what the volume is (how many liters)?
The hoe operator is in need of some daily practice... you've had that 345 5yrs now? :D |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build

I have recently pulled the excavator apart for a new pump and most of the wiring came apart at that time. As you saw it operating, the bucket tipping was back to front. I found also that the tracks were back to front. So I had to change the wiring to the tracks and reverse channel 1. Now its back to how it should be. Hopefully I can drive it better now:D |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Very nice paul, you did a great job on your paint application. How long did you take to build it and was it fairly easy to build?
|
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Looks great!! And I agree with joe, big pile of spoils!! Will be a nice addition to the equipment fleet!!

Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build

I guess the total time to build would be about a week, I did the build over a longer time due to work and other issues around the house. Yes the build was easy in comparison to any of the Wedico kits. |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build

Hey Joe, 6Ltrs equals 11kg There was a little more room in the tipper maybe 500 grams or more. This video I used the bigger bucket and the scales. http://youtu.be/26kCoLdEgRA |
Re: Sandmaster GMK 4000 Build
Thanks very much for the info. Video's are awesome. Just love the dogs sand box. Love that truck too but I think it might be a little out of my pocket books range right now.
