Re: my try at a doosan loader
well did some more work on the loader today. put in the front axle and the rear one. all 20rpm gear motors, thinking this my be to slow..... but we will see .....
the wheels are just to see if 1.9 sized wheels will work, i asked the other day about wheels and no answer's so like everything i got to figure it out my self. its more fun that way lol . http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...psisgxghno.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...psitnhrqet.jpg |

well i got the tires and wheels yesterday and that kind or well....... the rims are fine but the tires re huge and way to big so i took the crawler tires of the mock up wheels and used them look alot better . |
Re: my try at a doosan loader
well i got it working but the gear motors kind of sucked! so doing a drive train redo.
she going to be gearbox and axle set up now got to do little design work it wasn't relly designed for that kind of set up |
Re: my try at a doosan loader
Can be really bothersome having to rework an idea, but by your builds I've seen so far you're more than up for it, keep up the good work excited to see more :D
|
Re: my try at a doosan loader
Why not just change the gear motors? Looks pretty good by the way!
|
Re: my try at a doosan loader
Looking real good, as Reg says, why not just swop the motors, I'm using 80rpm ones in my JD9530 with 120mm dia tyres, you might want to try 100rpm
|
Re: my try at a doosan loader
i't ok i had some axles and a gear box just sitting around, money is really really stupid tight, right now and getting though wheels where kind of hard so buying new gear motors is not really able. so that why i was really bummed when the little gear motors didn't work. but i think i can get it working wit parts around the house.
http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...pshgfdbuf6.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...pspdnld5kf.jpg now the problem is bolts for my wheel wideners! lost those thing years ago! and also drive shafts. |
Re: my try at a doosan loader
ok bad on track, got it running and now paint time!
http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...psi9fvw8k1.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...psbomn1lde.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...pslgjmhss5.jpg so its need.... 1) cleaning 2) paint 3) new stupid strong steering servo 4) new longer cut straight counterweight 5) profit!...(ya to much south park) 6) play time! .... oh also mybe new cab or at lease window |
Re: my try at a doosan loader

Re: my try at a doosan loader
Paint looks good, seems like it has lots of power as well. Nice job!
|
Re: my try at a doosan loader
did some more work on the loader, made some railings and new rear fenders, replaced the little cables on the steps with chains and a seat and control sticks. ya i know there are two control sticks but, i've seen some loader with steering wheels and others with control sticks for steering. i've also seen them with both at the same time? i don't know it may not be scale but looks neat and fills up the cab.
next step better steering servo and two new valve servos, i may get two new cylinders for lifting the arm. but we'll see what extra cash i have this weekend http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...psdqvvyzvy.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...psy8hexubf.jpg |
Re: my try at a doosan loader

Re: my try at a doosan loader
The loader looks really good. I would of thought you would need a stonger servo for steering. I'm glad you shared that as I'm building a john deere articulating tractor and was going to go with a servo that puts out around 500oz. Keep the updates comeing and let's see some video of it in the dirt.

Re: my try at a doosan loader

Re: my try at a doosan loader
Nice job on the loader. In the video you mentioned the hydraulic pump was for a plane fuel system. Who makes the pump and are there different sizes? What about the valves?
thanks. Ken |
Re: my try at a doosan loader
ya it was for a old turbine, a friend of mine had. that engine long since die but the pump he gave to me. i changed the fittings to 1/16 fittings so it would work with my magom hrc valves. the pump was tiny so it works well with the magom stuff in fact looks and bulit just like there pump, almost like they took one of the airplane pumps apart to see how it was made, and copied it(not saying they did,) the only differents is the magom pump is a lot stronger, and the airplane pump has steal gears inside instead or brass, i don't know the brand, it came to me in a box of bits he was throwing out

Re: my try at a doosan loader
Great job! That's not a small project by any means, looks good. I wish there were more options for construction vehicle tires out there to be used on projects like this.

Re: my try at a doosan loader

Re: my try at a doosan loader
Very nice,

Re: my try at a doosan loader
Great job! I like your keep it simple/available, frugal approach. Still looks and works great. Do you have any pictures of the steering arrangement? Also, how thick are the lift arms? Apart from the plastic bits you are using Aluminum, correct?
|
Re: my try at a doosan loader
yep its all aluminum, and the sub frame arm and supports are .125 -1/8" thick.
little harder to work with but worth it in the end, really built and beefy . sorry no pic's of the steering but really simple two arms on either side of the front part of the frame to a servo in the center of the rear part of the frame and they are on a double ended servo arm, and when one side pushes the other side pulls. |
Re: my try at a doosan loader
Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Re: my try at a doosan loader
Love this loader! Such a good, unique model! I have your video on my watch list, and I watch it nearly every day because it is what I want to happen with my loader in that I want it to be that satisfying and solid. Great job!
