Spray Booths?

Where do yo guys panit your models, I have painted previous ones outside, and always seem to end up with some sort of blemish in the finish and being a perfectionist it drives me nuts. Just wondering where some of you guys paint.

I usually just paint my on my work bench (cleaned off of course) but I've been wanting to build a downdraft paint booth. Something kinda simple a bench height top with 3 sides (open to the front and top) an a fan underneath (variable speed or slow speed). Maybe a heatlamp to speed dry time. Simple right?

Yeah I guess the booth it self is simple but, I would not know where to start about setting up the down draft system, what I would use for the fan and how to route some kind of duct to blow the fuems out the basement window.

She ain't pretty, But works like a charm. Because my house is on the water, can't have a full depth basement. It sucks, but can't spray trucks in the garage in the winter.
I don't remember what mill the plastic is,but it's thick.

When you kick this baby on,it sucks the walls in.

It's like a wind tunnel in there when the door is closed.I use two furnace filters stacked. There's only one in this pic,had to use one in the furnace the other day.:o

If you make one of these be sure the motor is made to operate in fumes.
Hate to see your house leave the foundation!
Also be sure to cover fan when not in use.Or it will fill your new booth w/dust.

Well I hope this helps.
