New Project!
As if I haven't got enough to do, I thought I'd start a new project.
Started out with 4x of these: http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...psa4811442.jpg Have now got 1x of these: http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4f4b1286.jpg http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps304227e8.jpg http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9d497046.jpg http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps32e878a7.jpg 3 more to go, hope to have them done this weekend. Thanks for looking Stu |
Re: New Project!
My god. You making a tractor,or a loader? or 1/10 scale four wheel drive truck....
I give up. |
Re: New Project!
I will take a wild guess.
From the looks of the tires and the fact that the rims have only 8 lugs holding them to the hubs, I would say it is going to be a bobcat type of loader. With those tires and anything larger, there would have to be more lugs nuts/bolts holding the rims to the hubs. Now you have my 2 cents worth. BTW I hate secrets...LOL |
Re: New Project!
Not sure what it's going to be yet, but nice machining job on the wheels/hubs. Where'd you get those motors if you don't mind me asking?

I found this at my local scrap metal merchants, 5 meters of 50mm ally bar and a 2.5 meter piece of 20x60, I picked them up for 50€:D http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1df63e73.jpg Not sure what grade it is but it machines lovely, started roughing out the first motor mount: http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5253e38d.jpg http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...pseb4ae0c8.jpg http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...psa13ff90a.jpg Motor is a good fit: http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...pse6779d93.jpg Not bad for an old Colchester student lathe which incidentally before starting my first wheel for this project was the last lathe I used at school over 20 years ago! Hope to get more done over the weekend. Grüße Stu |
Re: New Project!
OK, Stu, I guess you're building a CAT 938G wheel loader. The clues given by the tires and articulated steering lead me to this conclusion.

Re: New Project!
Has to be some sort of 4x4 tractor...unless he's throwing us off the scent by placing it in the farm tractor section...
