How To Question... Need Help

I am new to the truck building hobby and am in need of some help. I recently purchased the king hauler and i want to chop the sleeper to make it a true flat top. What do i use to cut the plastic with. i have seen some pics of one that was chopped and the cut lines looked like a perfectly straight cut. I used an x-acto razor saw and to be honest my lines no matter how hard i tried was far from straight... Any info will be greatly appreciated and maybe some one that reads this has some photo's or a site that explain's the complete process.

I prefer to place tape around the sleeper and use this as a guide for my cut. Then a thin cut off wheel with a dremel tool to cut the roof off. After its cut use a small palm sander or file and smooth out the cut line. . Do the same with your roof. After you get smooth straight cuts glue the roof back on and glue supports on the inside for added strength. I use tamiya putty for the body filler and then high build primer after it was sanded.

Best thing to do is cut the whole sleeper off and call rick @ pmd and buy a wedico sleeper and be done. Nicer box all around
Just saying

Really i think it comes down to what tool you're most comfortable with using.

When i cut my last King Hauler body up, i actually used a scribing tool. I found i got better results than using a saw blade.

I use Thread.. Upholstery thread is best. mark your lines and then just go at it slowly.

To do this drill a small hole just big enough for the thread on the chop line. thread the Thread through the hole and then just saw with the thread. I leave the thread attached to the roll, this helps give you a good grip on one side plus the thread gets clogged and you will need to pull more through occasionally.
