anyone evaluated Marx tin litho dollhouses for size??

Has anyone evaluated the old Marx tin litho play houses to see how the scale compares?

This one says 25 x 16 x 8, so 16" is obviously the height, which would scale at 1/14 to an 18.7ft tall building, or 20ft at 1/15 scale. Presumably the chimney is in the measurement, so it seems smallish?

Hmmmmm
I never thought about it, I think I just assumed they were to small. If your numbers work out then they would be plenty big enough especially for 1/16.
But it does open up a lot of possibilities if you can find them cheap enough and in workable shape....I'll have to keep my eyes open for them as I hit flea markets and such this summer.

I have not. I know that the common 'dollhouse scale' is 1/12 (normal) or sometimes 1/24 (mini).

It would probably work pretty well, though a modest house. You likely don't have enough floor space many places to have an RC roadway around actual scaled down houses and businesses. Much beyond about a Gas station Convenience-mart size building is going to fill up a car pretty quickly

Just looked on ebay and they are actually really cool those houses... Think they will be good for parking my Sherman in front.
Unfortunately, they will just be very expensive to get to the EU with freight and customs and VAT.
