Very nicely done! Is the cab self-made? Excellent work.

No, that's the model 1:16 from ERTL

Well done with this conversion. Can't wait to see some videos. Are you going to use actuators or hydraulic for the blade?

derlex 03-06-2018 09:41 AM

Re: John Deere 650 H

i use actuators from CTI.

Wow very nicely done! I have one of these that has been on the back burner for quite some time. Just recently I was getting started with designing the driveline. I was thinking about using differential steering like used on the old Cletrac crawlers with one drive motor.
There isn't much room in the frame area to hide the two like you are using. What are the specs on your motors?

There is one like this on one of the European forums. I tried to contact the gentleman building it. Steve IHB was working on the drive terrain for me I had already completed the blade. With the unfortunate passing of Steve I’ll probably only have memories of him and the build now. . RIP buddy

Good work

Should be a beefy model when done, it'll be great to see vids of it in action.

Very nice! Absolutely love the tracks, get some dirt on them and they will look just like the real thing.

That's looking great!

I really like them actuators! They look so much like the real cylinders.

It amazes me the custom machine work some of you guys are able to do. I wish I had the ability to do it.

Wow, nice conversion!
Those new micro actuators from cti are really nice but at 126€ each plus 24€ for each controller they're a tad on the pricey side.

Beautiful work! Let us know how the CTI gear works out.

What do you estimate the final weight to be with lipo? Great work.

Re: John Deere 650 H

Based on photos, it appears you made track pads from flat plate, milled for grouser (soldered in?), then milled two grooves and bent the pad at the grooves to make the leading and trailing edges, for clearance between the pads? Very clever! Chain links milled from single piece? Really enjoy your work.

Thanks for sharing!

Re: John Deere 650 H

Hall Ken.

That's exactly how I did it. But first bend the plates and then solder the bars!
