Woodhog's leng long excavator

Well a little package showed up a couple of weeks ago been waiting to get the bugs worked out before I started a thread

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...904_190702.jpg

OK then after about 40 minutes of trying to get this thing unwrapped i finally got it unpacked,it was very well packed.

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...904_191744.jpg
http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...904_191723.jpg

when i unpacked it was packaged upside down,so when i saw oil was all over the foam wrapping I open her up to check the oil and it was empty. They had left a nut that clamps the hose down(i guess it is called a compression fitting)either off or loose
http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...905_190302.jpg:mad:

So no playing that night, and for those of you who know Liam my 4yr old son he was pissed.
The next night we filled her up with oil and got some control time:D
controls were not set up the way a real trackhoe is so i wanted to change them but couldn't figure out the radio mixes. So we ran it like it was for now.I want to go pretty in depth on this thing for all the guys interested in it . First is the tracks on the one i saw before had pins with c-clips on each end the pin and some were missing do to getting material in and around the pins.Mine had drive in roll pins which cannot just fall out.Next is the version 1.5 has a fourth valve. They are mixing the 4th valve to all the other valves to keep the pump from laboring and heating the oil up.When you move any of the 3 boom functions it closes the 4th valve giving you full pressure. That's why they have taken the lights off the other channel. That's all the major changes that i have noticed for right now, more when i get things swapped around to my liking:)

Ok got things swapped and finally figured out the mixes. All the channels on the reciever are marked channels 1-8 not ail, rud, elev, etc so i had to figure out one by one and label them on the receiver to figure out how to do the mixes. After Indy I felt first item on the agenda was a thumb so here is what i came up with let me know what ya think

And the final product mounted on the stick . I had to use delrin for the mount on the stick plate.

Thanks it is real simple i started with the center and drilled and tapped then bolted each piece to each other staggering the holes and countersinking the heads as each piece overlapped;)

Looks great Chris. That'll come in handy. Nice personal touch. Do you plan on getting decals made?

Looking good!!! Nice work on the thumb! Are you running the radio it comes with?

Where did that ship from?

Did you receive a manual with it? Is there one online?

hey Rod it shipped from japan and the only manual was the one with the radio i can make a copy of it and send it to ya if you want.Yes i am using the radio that came with it just for the reason that i dont have any extra 8Ch spectrum reciever and then another to run the tracks on:)

Aw man, unfortunatly I've got to spend a little money and time fixing some things around my house before winter. (Paint and roof work) :( I was trying to work around the St. Louis show but it's not looking that good. BUT... tell him I will be in Jackson!!! :D

hmmmmm.... wonder if that thing will fit on my trailer??? ;)
