Here are a few more recent pics of the "1/12ish" size 777 haul truck I have been working on for a while now... later I will start at the begining and work forward through the build.....

I tend to build simple stuff not true to scale, lacking in detail and usually over build things but hey as long as it works!!! LOL!!!

I also have a link to a vid for this truck that may be helpful...

That's an awesome custom build you've got there. Great job.

OK so here is how it started.....the first thing I like to do once I have created a CAD/DXF file for a project is to (water jet) cut a simple plywood profile to see what it will look like more or less..LOL...sorry I'm a bit old school and looking at a drawing isn't the same as having a full size part to work with, besides having a simple plywood models gives me something "real" to look at and get ideas from and a 2D drawing doesn't always work the same in a 3D world...LOL

After I have the plywood model cut out I start designing and cutting the metal parts, making changes as the build progresses...most times there is more changes and less progress...LOL...learning all the time !!!

( here is a vid of my first build... A 1/12ish D11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV596tHo0_o )

Simple rear suspension cylinders ( about 3/4" stroke) machined from pipe then welded and finished. Time will tell how good and for how long this will work....somethings ya just go to try....LOL
( there is nothing to stop them from pulling apart... I have recently built stops into the rear swing arms to limit the down travel...not sure how many time I lifted it up and pulled it all apart...funny how springs and any small parts like to bounce around and always end up rolling underneath something )

It looks really good! I can't wait for you to get this done so that you can start on the next project on your list!

That's a good laugh....I'm having a hard time building this truck!!! Building the PC1250 face shovel will be nearly impossible for my little brain...LOL

Progress on the frame and box.....keep in mind many things changed as I continued to build, so you may see things now in the pics that have now been changed and or removed...because I didn't like something or in most cases it just didn't work....

Changes made to the frame and swing arms in order to use a linear actuator as a hoist cylinder ( Firgelli linear actuator 12volt , 35 lbs , 9" stroke) This is one thing on this model that is not like the real deal....only a way of making it work, which is something I can live with as long as it works!!??

(The main frame is cut from 1/2" plate and the box frame is 1/4")

Front strut build pics ( about 1" travel ).....almost like the real deal...LOL...they will eventually get covered in so you don't see the springs and help keep dirt out.....
(cut from 3/8" plate and 1"-1018 bar stock )

WHOOOO-HOOOOO!!!! You are showing signs of addiction my friend! I can't wait to see all this stuff moving dirt. That shovel will need some good quality hydraulics but will dig like crazy!

Wow, That's coming along nicely. That water jet really makes it look easy.

DADSGARAGE-That is some nice work. I built the 777 but it was at 1:30 scale and was really difficult to build because of the size. My completed model would fit inside your box with room to spare. Are these the tires that will stay on your truck? Good job!!

HAHA...signs of addiction to this hobby really?? Not me I can handle my hobby I can stop anytime I want...( OK so I'm in denial )....

If you are interested check out this vid, it's a bit boring but it is one of the few vids of a PC1250 set up as a face/front shovel.

Thanks.....and yes the tires you see are going to stay on the truck, they are a bit small but they are close to being the right size, the rims will all need to have some mods done to them I have made some changes to the rear rims and have done nothing with fronts yet
