John Deere swing machine 2954d
A few years back I made an excavator it was a first attempt but not very good, so I decided to have another go, I have completely remade the under carriage but for now have reused the old boom arm and bucket, hopefully in the future it will be replaced but seems ok at the moment.
Tracks are made from k1 attachment chain and tracks made from aluminium angle, my girlfriends dad then took them all to work and got them anodized. Motors are mfa como 970d planetarys 105:1, they are attached to angle grinder heads which have a 3:1 reduction, I may upgrade the Motors to brushless at some point to improve the travel speed slightly. I used a China cat slew bearing it work a ok but I don't think it will hold so I'm going to change it to a taper bearing set up and possibly 2 slew Motors. http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psw78gbeox.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psix9oe0co.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psdbmivn2q.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psgzvt0dzr.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psawtj6qoa.jpg http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/...psyahkans0.jpg |

Cool. Looks like a forestry machine. 1/10 scale isn't it?

That looks awesome! Add some auxiliary hydraulics and you can put a grapple on it.

Re: John Deere swing machine 2954d
looks great. I like the fact that you used parts from a grinder to make it. And is that sheet metal? it doesn't look aluminum.
