Re: my attempt at a dozer build
Cool looking scratch built dozer. What did you do for drive motors & servos for lift?
Got vids? |
Re: my attempt at a dozer build
well the tracks are off my excavators and the lift is not servo 2 servos where not strong enough so i put a motor in there with a shaft through it to each side for the lift:)i will get some vids up soon

Re: my attempt at a dozer build
Lookin good Neil, what are you using for drive motors
greg |
Re: my attempt at a dozer build
they are jamco gearhead motors
|
Re: my attempt at a dozer build
How many inch oz per motor
|
Re: my attempt at a dozer build
Here is a photo of the chain I use Neil, the front ideler is made on the lathe, you can see at the front of the track frame there is a insert which is spring loaded so that if a rock gets in the chain it just adjusts and keeps on rolling..

Re: my attempt at a dozer build
I use teflon on the bottom of the undercarrage instead of rollers so there is no drag and nothing ever plugs up with dirt

Re: my attempt at a dozer build

Re: my attempt at a dozer build
Nice build. You have captured the proportions on the cab & body sheetmetal for a D61 very nicely. Since I'm a big Komatsu fan, it is good to see some being built.

The setup Greg has built is what you need, it would deliver a lot more traction to the ground. |
Re: my attempt at a dozer build
Yes it pushes ok but needs more traction joe hint hint

Re: my attempt at a dozer build

Re: my attempt at a dozer build
Niel , flow Gregs build on his tracks and bottom , that should work well for you . I tend to get on the heavy side of things because of the soil I have or lack of :p
