Boneyard Hauler Gets Lights!

Hey All. WE all know this trailer and love pulling it around the shows so after Talking to Russ a few months ago and i got to have to honor of lighting it up. I picked up his trailer a few wekks ago when i was there so i can light it up and make it glow. So Since i had just got done with one project i figured id get this one done as well!

I had to take the trailer apart into 2 sections as it was easier to glue and solder the wires!!! Well enough talk ill give ya some pics. Here is where i am now :cool:

We all know the drill glue, solder, then test :p
I used 1.8v 30ma LEDS in series of 5 with a 100ohm resister on every negative wire. Because of this all negitives had to be ran to one central location to get equal luminosity out of the leds...(yeah had to re wire a row after the first 5 were bright the last 5 dim made a nice fade look though)

Glue

Then solder

Test
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ps14cba441.jpg

Then i make it look nice and clean replace any dim leds
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...psaed5b69e.jpg

Then after a couple hours of soldering and testing etc.... you finish a half.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ps35c49d89.jpg

Took me a day to wire this side... Hmmm maybe i can finish today

What do ya think so far???? Cant wait to get the other side done and it all back together its gonna be bad a$$!!!!

Thanks for looking!

Dang rookie :D. Ya couldn't have done it with the trailer together :D:D lol. What kinda battery he using?. I didn't have to use any resistors on mine other than when I had 4a lights and I needed a resistor to make the 5th light :D lol.

Looks good :D

Sweet! I love lights. Lots of them, and this thread delivers! But, wow, your COE looks a little naked now. I think it needs more lights to match! At least a few down the bottom edge of the cab!

Aaron, you NEED to get one ;):p
If you do what's the plan, a vinyl graphic like Smiley or how about carry the color and stripe from the truck onto the trailer with the stripe flaring up near the back end kinda thing?

hmmmm idk thats a good question havnt thought about that yet. I guess it would depend on if i can ever pick a "name" for my truck and incorperate that into the trailer via graphics. otherwise it most likely would be painted to match one way or another.

Russ hasnt decided which route he wants to go yet for those. They will be functional either thru a wireless kit or standard trailer light kit i would assume. We'll tackle that after the decision is made for it.

Aaron, what sort of under trailer lighting is that? It looks like the light wire stuff they use on RC planes and helicopters for night flying.

Similar my hobbyshop sells the stuff on the roll for $3/ft but russ had these on there already they are 24"(i think id have to measure) long i belive auto lighting strips, they are not loose rolls like on the planes and stuff it has a metal backround. Ill take a pic they run off 12V which is why we did the lights that way too so they had the same battery.
Maybe The Owner will chime in on where he got them :D my Hobby shop sells blue, green, red, white, and orange...... Im thinking of getting some red and orange ones for my trailers.

Aaron,
That is awsome looking. I think you should add some lights to that triler it would really set it off just my opinion.
