Transmitter customizing

I ran across this video, and have been trying to track down this style of single-axis joystick pots without a springloaded center that he's replacing the switches with.

I can find 2 or 3 axis pots like these all day to rebuild various gaming system controllers.

Any ideas?

Looks like everybody else is asking the same question... I can see where this might come in handy for RC construction too...
But when he was testing them at the end they didn't look proportional it looked like the were still on and off... Maybe it was just the way he was throwing the switches.

I thought that type of mod would be helpful for a lot of stuff we do here

Yeah, I couldn't tell if it still threw like switches or if that was just the display programming. I don't see it not working that way since they were rebuilding a rig after selling the old one with a previous truck. The other vids look like it works well.

Plus why would he mod the radio from switches to pots, if it still only acted like switches?

I wondered the same thing, so I just assume he was throwing the switch really fast and it just look that way on the display...

The sliders that come on Spektrum radios can be a nuisance sometimes, not much resistance to make them move, so easy to bump out of position & then the excavator is running off a cliff.

Hehehehehe, driving off a cliff isn't good, but it's kinda fun to watch. Might be worth trying to find a mode that lets you throw a switch to lock out the drive channels?

I really don't want to admit how long it took changing keywords and going through image searches trying to find a 1-axis stick pot. I'm *really* not sure how this description is even close, but whatever.

"uxcell 10K Omh 3D Analog Joystick Potentiometers with Knobs Wireless Module Controller Rocker Up & Down Latching for Handheld Game Xbox Orange 4pcs"

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Parts are now in my hand and look right. 4 pack of single axis, War Shu Gai with a Crab Rangoon brand stick-type pots, around $10.
