Old School KW A Model...
Well months ago I was very very lucky to be able to pick up Sneeky's Bad A$$ Kw A Model he built a few years ago. I just love the great stance he gave this truck plus the amazing body he built that it was a must have. Now I have no plans on changing really anything but a few parts on the truck and to get a set of IHB's awesome wheels for it to finish it off. I am just going to do a quick freshening up of the truck and lighting.

I went old school with one of Russ's Valley Chrome edition 22/20 drop bumpers for the front and a 2 light light plate for the rear a set of stack brackets to get the stacks moved back and a new set of tanks from Russ with rounded ends it has Russ's pointed ones on it just not the look I am wanting for the truck. I am also going to fix any extra screw holes in the frame and use the Scale Bolts and put the deck plate in between the rails instead of on top and then just a respray on the frame and that's it.. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...boy017/001.jpg Now for whats in the left side of the pick. The day cab look is awesome on this truck but I also thin the 46" Mercury sleeper would look killer on it so I am setting it up so it can be both a day cab and a sleeper truck. This is one of two different Mercury sleepers I had Russ make me "I'll post the other one with another build soon". I picked out of bunch of different picks of sleepers to get the patterns I wanted and Russ made it happen for me so here are some up close pics of it.. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...boy017/002.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...boy017/003.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...boy017/004.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...boy017/005.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...boy017/007.jpg http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...boy017/006.jpg Ok thats it for now I got my parts unpolished so I got some polishing to do on parts so I can start mounting them before I repaint the frame quick.. More to come soon.. |

Re: Old School KW A Model...
always loved that truck!! parts look great! never personally liked the shiny sleepers but it kinda looks good on this one.
|
Re: Old School KW A Model...
i like it a lot think mainly cause of how simplistic it looked.

Re: Old School KW A Model...
Lucky you, Paul! That's one of my favorite Kenworth builds on the forum. I love that sleeper, but I'm not sure I love it on the truck. When I see a sleeper like that I tend to think of earlier models, from the 50's, but don't let me stop you! That is some incredible machining. Are the rivets raised, or are they drilled into the aluminum with a counter sink type center drill? It looks killer. I also like the tapered front bumper. That will be a nice change.

Re: Old School KW A Model...
I think that sleeper is very cool...a first in our hobby for sure...love seeing more old school classic looking trucks...it also looks like you could find a easy way to moun the bunk to allow you to interchange the truck from a day cab to a sleeper...
