radio antenna

Hi, curious what you guys are using for your radio receiver antenna. My gear is from previous hobby ( model aircraft ) the receivers have a long thin wire, I know your not suppost to cut them.
Thanks
Terry

Re: radio antenna

Seams not so critical with the receiver antenna when for our use, when it's 2.4 Ghz, as most are using these days,..just curling the wires, 2 normally, up within the cab somewhere..;) Not have had issues with this in my case. One are so up close when controlling the models. If it's an airplane, naturally one will put greater care to arrange the antenna 'according to the book' to maximize reach. The older radios, 27, 40 Mhz and so on seams to be more sensitive regarding that the receiver antenna is properly lined up, you know, in a plastic tube or similar leading out of the cab

I just took a page out of the old transistor radio book and wrap my receiver wire around a piece of cardboard that is positioned up in my sleeper. It has a great range in each of my trucks, over 130' (no problems so far).
