anybody have the tamiya tow truck yet?
thinking about getting the new tow truck, and stretching the chassis for an american cab.
anybody have one yet, how's the operation? it looks like a lot is manual, i'm wondering if it could be made hydraulic. thinking at least 16 channel radio with 3d sticks. truck movement on the left, boom and winch on the right. i was thinking to just by the bed, boom, etc and start from scratch, but the parts are not even available yet. might be cheaper to by they whole thing and sell the cab and chassis separately. might recoup a couple hundred.. |

Heard about them but haven't seen one. Sounds like an ambitious plan..

yes, I have one, there is a lot that is manual, like the main boom and the underlift have to be moved manually. you need to get the seperate actuator to be able to lift and tow anything. the winches and rear stabilisers are plastic and are really only for show, but overall is ok

ok thanks,
i really only wanted the rear body plastics and tow mechanisms, but they are not available yet, and i figured it would be cheaper to buy the whole thing so maybe it doesn't make sense to spend well over a grand for something that doesn't work that good |

So as it comes, their Tow truck kit still isn't able to Tow anything? It still looks cool and i'd like to see a video on it if you get time |

Here is Tamiya’s kit for the boom: https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/tract...ctuator-set-2/
I’d prefer to make a system my self, or wait for someone else to make a kit for all the moving parts. |

https://youtu.be/LrXVKwuWna0 I think it would be cool on a long wheelbase Pete or KW conventional model. |

Also if you want working winches I would think one made for the 1/10 rock crawlers would be perfect.
