Lowboy Rebuild

Been busy the last couple of weeks after i picked up a lowboy from Trucker N. Trailer came fully ready to pull but as usual i had some changes in mind. Im happy with where its at right now and im about 50% done with all the changes i have in mind for it. so heres what i have so far.

Heres the trailer the day i got it, tri axle with lift axle and lights, manual neck in red.

Resanded the decking, little stain, and some sanding and painting of the frame
:D

Started the lights redoing them for 9v, with LED's the batch i got were all miscolored and brightnesses so i have more on order from a different place.

Stole the suspension from the flat bed and came up with this
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...610_134424.jpg

with the lift axle (which has been removed.. going with a straight tri axle)
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...610_134501.jpg

Here is how she's looking in the sun

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/DSCF6413.jpg
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/DSCF6422.jpg

with the current set up all wheels stay on the ground

And for Fathers day the wife bought be a new Case International tractor for it :D:D
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...617_105151.jpg

Still left to do is power up the neck put the lights in when the arrive.. fab up a new rear light bar, add the decking plate, ramps for the front.some reflective stripes, and a few other little details.. But im pretty happy with where it sits now.. Now i just need to get a suspension set for the flatbed  which by the way isnt staying that way either. i decided to shorten it to 33" and make it a dump trailer :D:D figured it was the perfect time to do it while i have parts of it stolen. haha

Thanks for looking!

Looks great man, what are your plans to power the neck? I've been looking into the same thing, I have some CAD drawings made up for how I think I'm going to do it but it will have to wait till i get a mill.... You thinking screw drive or hydraulics?

He took out the solid axles and installed Tamiya suspension and axles. Now the trailer axles have mobility and can roll over obstacles without lifting all of the wheels off the ground.

I think its going to be a screw drive and have a servo? id have to as Travis he's going to help me make that part happen.. i wouldn't know where to start with it that much. im sure i could figure it out but would take me 3 times as long lol

It had the solid axles when i got it but like Travis said i took the axles and suspension off my flat bed to use on this trailer so its a full working suspension.

lol Reg product number 1029 http://www.gardentrucking.com/produc...esort=1&max=10
kinda pricey but are deff cool and actually work well. Right now I have my excavator chained to the low boy and I was able to hold the lowboy upside down with no worries or movement in load. next I wanna order the ratchets for the flatbed (ALSO UNDERGOING A OVERHAUL)
