Hi Ramon!
Another Volvo! And you rarely see a scale compactor. Two excellent choices! ;) (Anyone built a paver yet?) Stefan |
Re: Volvo SD200 Compactor
Very nice project! You have my attention, and I'll be checking for updates.

Re: Volvo SD200 Compactor
Is the rear axle solid? You might need a differential to make it steer. With it locked it may not turn.

Re: Volvo SD200 Compactor
Unique build and great start so far. Looking forward to updates.

The rear axle is solid, I did a test run with it and ste steering is no problem. |
Re: Volvo SD200 Compactor
The progress so far.
http://i1348.photobucket.com/albums/...psbb8aea67.jpg The front unit without the roller. http://i1348.photobucket.com/albums/...ps665688a5.jpg the Chassis ready for gluing. I use the UHU endfast 300 glu and then for 5 min at 150 degree in the oven, super strong. http://i1348.photobucket.com/albums/...psb851d327.jpg the chassis and front unit. http://i1348.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9c739923.jpg the cabin just before gluing. Made from 2 parts 1mm aluminium sheet, bended in the panbrake folder. |

Re: Volvo SD200 Compactor
Great project. I can't believe you use glue to assemble! I've never heard of that glue...how does it compare to JB Weld?

Quote:
http://www.uhu.com/en/products/epoxy...oxidharzkleber It is possible to put this in the oven for 7 min on 150 degrees the glue get stronger when you heat it up , up to 3000n/cm2. If you have to glue another part to the part that is glued the glue will stay strong. dont overheat or leave the parts longer than 7 min in the oven. after the glue cooled off you can sand it drill in it and paint it. It is not possible to powder coat the glue. I used the glue on al my models and some are 8 years old and no problems. I dont have the option to weld or solder the Aluminium so this glue is perfect. |

Making parts on my new Stepcraft 420 CNC milling machine.

Re: Volvo SD200 Compactor
Wow. This is turning out incredible! Your cab is amazing. Is it separate pieces off your CNC mill, glued together as well? The fit and finish is amazing. The whole compactor looks flawless right now.

Re: Volvo SD200 Compactor
