My new dump truck a little different.
I have been wanting to build this and have been collecting parts since March. I now have most of what I need so I started on it today. I also had extra time today since the snow storm hit and the sent us home at noon. We got 12in of snow from 7am to 1pm.

What colors are you gonna paint it? It will deff be an unstopable coe... I like it! cant wait to see it moving. |

OMG ! I love it Travis ! Ive been working with the 1/16 scale German R/C tanks for years now....and recently these R/C truck bodies...but I never thought of combining them ? What a great idea my friend ! Cant wait to see this one progress......

Re: My new dump truck a little different.
I haven't decided yet whether the drive sprocket at the front is intentional or an oversight..

Re: My new dump truck a little different.
Awesome idea! I've seen trucks like this, surfing the internet too! This will be an intersting one to watch. Do you think the drivetrain will hold up to the extra stress of hauling a load of dirt? I'm not sure how robust the Tamiya tank drivetrains are.

Re: My new dump truck a little different.
This thing is neat Travis, thanks for the link. Back in the early 80's I put a tamiya F150 body on a German flak panzer chassis, the thing was a blast!

Re: My new dump truck a little different.
hey travis it definetely puts a different spin on a dump truck..although seeing something like that blasting down the dirt road where i live near the construction site would for sure turn heads.....:cool:

Re: My new dump truck a little different.
I have seen a tracked dumper similar to that on a river dredging spoil site. It could go almost anywhere. The entire bed was on a pivot so it could dump off the back as well as either side. That is looking good.
