New guy from NYC

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and I found you all through a video I watched on YouTube. There are tons of great builds here and a lot of info to absorb. My background in RC comes from the 1/10 crawler side and I have way too many of those. I've been wanting to get involved with the construction side of the hobby but the equipment can be super expensive. Right now my fleet consists of a D5 built by small haul and a king hauler with a flat bed. I'm in the process of converting a tonka dump truck and front loader to RC and I'm waiting on delivery of a dump trailer for the king hauler to pull around.

Lol me too, I work in heavy construction. I live in Queens but I don't mind traveling. I travel to Westchester to run my scale crawlers because it's worth it. I have a nice sand pile at work and time to mess around but the sand it a little too course and is messing the tracks of my d5, I already had to remove a link.
So it's back to my 3x5' dirt hole in my back yard. Lol

I actually found this forum through the link in one of your videos.
I have a new baby so I'm never really free but I can make time to meet up. Where on the island do you guys get together? Do you have a Facebook group that you post local info on? That's how I communicate with the crawler guys.

Re: New guy from NYC

LoL thanks for watching my vids. BigFord and I meet up anywhere we don't have any place special. I also contacted cummingsman29 about meeting up also. Any one of us can set a date and time and post it on the forum, weekends are best. Some of us do have Facebook accounts. some of us also crawl, I sport a axial scx10. If you want to meet up with the guys set a date and time and post it. Who can make it will let you know. Oh by the way that user name you have don't sound to friendly. LMAO

The username was a nickname given to me in college and I used it on a few jeep and RC forums, I just keep it consistent so people can reference my good feedback across forums if need be.

My lady and I would love it, we like going hiking up in the mountans and we take our axials with us. I may have to make that trip soon because she's 5 months under construction and Sarah is do to be born in November.

Awesome! I have a 6mth old and I just picked "him" up 6 tonka trucks, two of which I'm converting to RC, the loader and dump truck.
One guy brings his wife sometimes and another guy brings his two little girls. Hit me up on Facebook "Chris Maurer" (profile pic is my son reaching for the camera) if you want to get in those groups and have any trouble. They are private but if you request you'll get in, just say you heard about them through me.
