RC4WD 2 hole steel rims modified

I bought a set of the RC4WD 2 hole steel rims. They are nice rims just one problem the holes are round so I had to do some modification to make them more like a 1:1 rim.

Here is what the rims look like stock.

Here is what it looks like after a little time with a dremel.

Those look great Trav! Its a shame that a little bit more R&D from RC4WD and they could have been produced like that.

They look cool! I was thinking about getting a set of those for my trailer, but I wasn't sure if they have the hubs for non-drive axles. What hubs do those wheels come with, anyway?

As long as you have a standard Tamiya trailer, the axles use the same rims as the truck rears. The trailer axles have the same hexes as the truck which makes things a lot simpler. Having the wheels mount to the axle shafts makes them a lot stronger and have the ability to track strait compared to having rims with bearings in them. I have made some axles that use bearinged rims but the tolerances must be much tighter to get them not to want to camber in.
