Go to the automotive store & get some same diameter coiled compression springs that are stiffer to put inside shock.

If you want to go super heavy duty, then remove the spring from the stock shock, and replace it with a length of silicone fuel tube..

Push style pens also have stiffer springs inside of them.

Why nobody use real shocks with oil, and let the springs take the load you want? I am just looking into materials to use for leaf springs to have flex and adjust the thickness of the leaf to decide how much load you want to carry. Easier way is if you use airbag dummy springs.
I will make some examples when I come to that on my custom truck build, as I want to replicat exact 1:1 system.

If your using stock Tamiya suspension you can go to Tamiya USA and order spring leaves to add to your springs they have 4 different lengths. It works a lot better than trying carry the weight on shocks. Use the following link and look at the first 5 items on the parts list.

This is the best picture I have albeit a rear set I did the same with the front. If you are hauling the weight this will take care of the squat and will still allow the suspension to flex. I believe I added 4 leaves per spring assembly.

That's a great idea! Have some spare leaf springs going to give this a shot.

Re: upgraded front shocks

On my bruder mack cab on tamiya chassis on the rear shocks I just removed the springs and cut some aluminium round rod and placed it in the shock bodies to stiffen it up so there is no sag and did away with the front shocks as its getting used as a race truck,,,,,,,,,,,
But on my other truck I used the springs from pens as well in the front and rear and it works well without the need to add extra leaf spring................

Cheers Tracy

Here's my take on stiffened leaf springs. Had to grind off the rivets holding the stacks together. 2 blades were added to each stack, total of 5 blades in each leaf spring. Should help with raising the front end a bit.
