Re: Slewing bearing
I just purchased one. Its great. I was pretty dissapointed when i found out their is no bearrings in it but it is still a good buy. Ended up chucking it up in the lathe cause it was about a half inch to tall.

Re: Slewing bearing
Torrington make some nice thrust bearings . Not certain if they would fit your application ..

Re: Slewing bearing
I think I will try a couple of thin section bearings and see how they perform.

Re: Slewing bearing
I used a tapered bearing on the top (carries both radial and thrust load):

ptebbe: Where did you get that 72t gear ring? Do you have a link? Thanks in advance! :-)
I also used a tapered bearing on my excavator, but I also had another opposite-facing tapered bearing for the bottom one so that the tapers combined where in a X shape. It got very sturdy, tight and rolls very well (details here) Best regards, Stein :-) |
