Imex Taigen German tiger II

I figured since I have one I should post it up. I'm not a tank guy but figured I should at least try one and see how I like it, was gonna get a tamiya but the more I looked into this one I couldn't pass it up, I know Tamiya's tanks are way more detailed and also cost way more. This one is $400 shipped , RTR shoots BB'S and almost all metal, tracks, wheels, gun , turret and chassis are metal. 18-19lbs , sound and smoke , has recoil and all. Like I said for a hardcore military guy this may be a bit off, but for me, I freaking love the thing. Now I'm making a Humvee to go with it and maybe paint a semi and trailer in Camo to go with it.

Don't apologize for a great looking tank :) Being an armor nut myself, your tank looks great. The Tamiya Tiger I's are early versions with rubber tires on the roadwheels. Yours being a late version with the steel roadwheels, sets it apart from the Tamiya version. While I didn't look all that hard at your pics, everything looks to be correct for the version.

Again, don't put down a nice looking tank :D:D

Well thank you Sir! You how some people get offended when you say replica and they get all bent out of shape and tell you your tow ropes are on the wrong side or something , I just wanted to play safe since I don't know much about them :D.

That"s a very good price for almost all metal,I have a whole division of tanks,my most favored part is : painting and weathering.I'll attache a picture of my tiger 1,that Tamiya Canada used on their flyer.

Wow that looks great !! I'm gonna start tinkering with it when I get time, I need to bring out some shine on those tracks so they look metal.

Well, if you want an advice, give them a black wash first, then after drying,a bit of brown (the shade depends on what kind of mud or soil in the terrain, such as: desert, central Europe,Russian front..) Highlight with dry silver,or in your case just fine sand paper.

Thank you! I will give that a try and see how it turns out.

Have fun with it as it does look good! Never tried a Taigen product so let us all know about your experience with it!

Any questions or help needed, you know where we are. :D

(I'm sure you know this by now, but it is a Tiger I)

Jeff

I just saw that when you mentioned it. What I meant to write is Tiger 1 Version II ( version I was all plastic ) but thanks for the info, to me it's a Tank of some sort :D

Have to say I really like your tank. I grew up building military models in the early 60's, when RC was reserved for those with a lot of disposable cash, and they were usually aircraft or boats.

Even at $400 it's a great deal, considering what you get.

Thanks to you, I've been bitten by the bug! I'm still undecided on what to buy, but I'm thinking about something in metal, equipped with IR.
