The new look for Ole-yeller
Built this baby about 3 years ago, she's a articulated 6x6,w/a lift tailgate,& v-blade snow plow.
This is what she looks like now. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5294.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5289.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5285.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5286.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5283.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5284.jpg I really hate to take this thing apart,it is really a slick truck. But the only time I break this out is when it's snowing. Might as well make it something I use year round. So I guess an off rd dump here we come. Down to the bones she goes. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5295.jpg This is what I'm thinkin. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5297.jpg Thanks for lookin! FGD |
Re: The new look for Ole-yeller
Fred. That's going to look great. You'll be able to plow and sand at the same time.

Re: The new look for Ole-yeller
Wasn't it green at one time? I seem to remember it a different color when I saw it at Indy. Didn't have the plow, lift gate, or tire winch. The articulation really made an impression on me when I saw it. Liked it then and I am sure I will like the rebuild. Screw drive or hydro for the dump bed mech.?

Re: The new look for Ole-yeller
Thanks Guys!
Well made some progress, had to relocate the steering servo & linkage to fit d/box. This is the old mount set up. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5303.jpg This is the new location. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5308.jpg Purchased a few gear reduced motors for my screw drives, assumed they would have the hair needed for the task.Turns out there ok for the 10"& 14".Just don't have what it takes for the longer boxes.Have the right ones on order from Germany. But got tired of waiting on them.So decided to Freddy one of these for this build. This is what I did to make up for the lack of hair. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5302.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5298.jpg So now I have a reduced gear reduced motor. She should have the hair now. I hope! She fit perfect where she was spoda. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5306.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5309.jpg For you gents that never seen this short vid of ole-yeller in action. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics2207.jpg Thanks for lookin! Anyhow, got tired of lookin at the motor just hangin out in the open.So made a little doggy house for em. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5312.jpg Got a surprise package in the mail the other day from Cossett. There these slick little rotator lights, hook up two wires & your good to go.Fully adjustable from inside the light it's self.So figured lets give these babies a home. Also added another exhaust pipe. Can't have just a single pipe on this animal. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5319.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5321.jpg Thanks for lookin! FGD Cossett,Thanks again! |

Re: The new look for Ole-yeller
Wow, Fred, those are some great changes! You sure know your stuff when it comes to making things fit, and finding a way to make it all work. Very cool. You make it look so easy.
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics5306.jpg One question - where did you find the pillow blocks on the driveshaft? I have been looking for something like that for a project. I didn't even think they existed! |
Re: The new look for Ole-yeller
WOW! that video is amazing that you can get that muck traction to push that much snow.. Well done.
