well a little set back :( need to remake the front :( I had issues with the z link then once I got the right dimensions for that I also got the right boom , cylinder dimensions . I thought I could get away with just remaking the boom  but now I can't get the bucket flat on the ground  I could add extensions to the boom frame work to bring the boom pivot point up , BUT that'll look like poo . Soooooooooo , re-cut time  but in steel :D not to worried about weight ;) |

F in A Cotton... F in A....
Nice job Steve! All these excavators being built right now is making me want to build another one myself! I only wish I could build with that level of quality. Reg |
Re: 990 cat loader (WORKING)
Thanks Reg , you do a fine job your self . I got that VMC to help with the parts I make for ppl , if it wasn't for that , I'd be building the same way you are with manual machines . I spent some stick time today with the loader . A lot of the probs I have is the transition from real machine control to the radio . I'm gettin it though . no vids though :o I gotta fig. why the h3!! it takes so long to upload anything anymore

Re: 990 cat loader (WORKING)
As you all know , I haven't been happy with the tires available to us  . Sooo I've been doodling in Acad for a bit ;) this is what I came up with .
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...TIRE-Model.jpg I already got the mold halves drawn but vismill will not load them up for some reason  might be way to complex for a cheap cam program  Or I got to upgrade to pro  http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...IRE2-Model.jpg I'm going to make some kind of home made injection molder ;) still trying to werk it out in my head  werse case I'll just pour them like Tom did with his triple 7 ;) Back to werk  |

Re: 990 cat loader (WORKING)
didn't make indy or nat. pike shows so I spent a few hrs movin packed sand and #57 gravel mix . the remnants from pouring my shop floor a couple years ago . no vids :o I attached all the teeth 1st , boy this thing can dig :D . 1st pic shows the reason for the 12 lbs counter weight has at least that in the bucket .
I hope to get some primer this week when I go out for appointments . I'm just reluctant to tear it down to paint like the mack :o they work :o http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ilder/8191.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ilder/8192.jpg |

Re: 990 cat loader (WORKING)
Steve the loaders lookin great. The tires however are looking just a little on the squishy side of the spectrum with that 24lb load on them.
