Weed killer/water Aeromax truck

Hi guys , been awhile since I built anything, but if you saw my Aeromax build thread, this is the plan from the get go and finally was able to execute the idea and start building this long awaited and MUCH needed truck . It's been almost 2 years since I planned this, shortened a flat bed trailer and the rest is all hand made. Thanks to my Buddy wolf for donating the Tank and helping out a ton with everything. Here she goes:

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psbsp60hmh.jpg

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psinrqby67.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psoqufcoax.jpg

I wanted the bed to sit low like the real ones so some u stock was used

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psjcqzqcx1.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...pshawbk5uu.jpg

Now building the frame... But I wanted to use my wheel loader forks to pick up the whole thing and make it mobile. This is what we came up with

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...pskvjyyewn.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...pszyabvpnw.jpg

Joined two milled u shapes to make it big enough to fit the forks

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psmnpyrodw.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psc1abdu2f.jpg
Moved the pump to the back after seeing a real one with it just like that

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psx7zfyrrz.jpg
First try at the hard lines... Fail..

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psp7ere362.jpg

How about a solid one without filter..much better
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6r4vfx0c.jpg

Sprayer mounts were a major pain in the rear to build.

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0aggb5b4.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...pszvbamcu7.jpg

And at last, my vision is complete, worked out great, simple and I can adjust the height and side position.

Scale hardware makes everything way more tasty....

That's it for now guys! I will do more work and post more pictures soon. Thanks for looking at my modest build. Comment , good or bad.

Sweet! Where did you get the little valves? Are you going to hook them up to a servo so that they can be adjusted or turned on and off?

MoRockN 07-02-2014 04:24 PM

Re: Weed killer/water Aeromax truck

Thanks buddy! no servo, the real ones turn by hand so I'm sticking to that idea.... Cause it's less work :D . The little valves I found by accident at Menards. $1.97 . I wanted less complexity and more function.

Re: Weed killer/water Aeromax truck

Thanks guys!!! It's really turning out great. Here are more pictures.

Got the nozzles mounted and added some cross beams to the deck.

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psiov7wdfo.jpg

Now the splitter between the sprayers, had to be even to make sure it has even flow on both sides.

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psnuois9es.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psortbbjhk.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psiynstcge.jpg

Some hard lines to hide the motor wires
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psgshzcdhj.jpg

This machine will have a filler access, bring another tanker or drive into a filling station ( coming soon) plug and fill. Mount made of brass as it needed to be strong cause it needs pressure to insure the filler nozzle is well seated . Let's get cracking

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psxlmoymn5.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psjx2l87s8.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psgfynbefx.jpg

What's a water truck without a hose reel??
Wolf got the frame built while I made the riding rollers.
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psgqs1oppa.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psnjalhyuf.jpg
Simple you may think..... Took forever to get them just right and level. Everything in this build has easy removal/repair access. I hope to never need either option.

Added a diamond plate to the upper deck and some serious support as this tank will be heavy and the last thing I need is for it to break on the job site

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psr6r2xuxw.jpg

Hard line mounts. Simple and easy

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...pssi4voytx.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psyvokblyr.jpg

The hose will also be functional , I just don't have it plugged yet.

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psigo1gesc.jpg

Let's shoot some paint on this piece shall we??

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psdt0tpru0.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psz5rjtjw5.jpg

And last but not least

http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psulvqo8zg.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9renfrlq.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psjtve1dcc.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psqs8jopfk.jpg
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...psqxbetu1g.jpg

I tested everything and all works flawlessly !!! I changed out the stupid white tanks and side skirts for plain chrome tanks. Looks much more work truck like. Now the part I hate most, making LED's and fitting all the crap inside the cab. I will post a video soon after it's all done and driving under it's own power. Thanks guys for checking out my build. I hope this gives you some ideas if you were thinking of building one for whatever reason , my reason is the weeds are taking over my construction area and now they will be history :D.
Ayoub

This a nice machine looking forward to the video! When you made the filler nozzle box how did you bend your brass, the bends are flawless.

The bends were done by sliding the brass in a vice and bending it by hand. Worked perfectly.

Great build. What holds the pump/tank frame to the flatbed? Magnets?

This is a great build, cant wait to see it done.

Re: Weed killer/water Aeromax truck

Thanks guys! Blender, the frame with the tank is sitting on it's own weight right now when it's full it will not move. But I'm putting straps on it soon for more realism.
