The gear shift is working, when the truck put in gear.

And i put a working key in the dash. When I put the key in the lock the receiver is on.

I agree!!! WOW that thing is sweet!! those trailers are fantastic and the fact your making the bridge gates work remotely is awsome!! just gotta find (or build with your talent) is some r/c livestock!

Re: Kenworth T950 Roadtrain

hello,

here annother update.

Livestock is a problem. I got already a cow and a bull, but they don't like each other.
(sh.........).Hahahaa.

The reason for having no videos is that the driving off the truck is not without problems.
Only one driven rear axles is the problem and the both axles have separate springs. So when the second axles is standing something higher, the first will lift from the ground.
Also the driven axle is a rigid axle.

To solve this problem I bought two rear axles from Tamiya.

they do not fit on the the truck. So I have to make some parts to let it fit.
First I had to made new springs.

And the axles I have to adjust.

So far so good.
Now it has to fit.

When can we see the driven at the modelclub?

Kind regards ,Norbert

Re: Kenworth T950 Roadtrain

Hello,

Here a update.
First, thanks for the compliments.

It did take some time before I got back to build of the project.
It was verry busy at work.

YES i did it. And it fits.
I had to build some more parts to get the axles even.

Then I put it under the chassis.
Some adjustments I made and YES it does fit.:)

Now I have to build the shaft from the gear box to the axles.

Erik

Great idea i kinda like the idea of adjustable linkages!!

holland trucker erik 09-30-2012 03:53 PM

Re: Kenworth T950 Roadtrain

Hello,

Here a picture with the paint on it

I made also the two shafts and it works.
I do make it al by hand. So things like the shafts are a little problem.
But when it does work it is great.

To rebuild the rear axes the rear bumper has to come off.
Now it is the time to build a new bumper.
I did build it from wood.
this is the new bumper.

I did have some time.
So the steering axel did have a smal servo.
The servo was not strong. I build a big one in it.
Now it the wheels move in both directions when the truck is standing stil.
I do hope that the truck is steering well when it drives in reverse.

this are the things I did the last weeks.
greats

Erik

Re: Kenworth T950 Roadtrain

hello,

The problem is how to extend the axes.
Now I do need some help, because I don't have a "Lathe".
So I got help, and in a evening I had the parts I needed.
So here the the build.
Before I start with the axes I had to put the rear bumper on and connect the lights.
First the extensions on the Tamiya axes.

It is always nice work when it fits.
In the extension I put a 4mm bolt. The bolt is so long that second wheel wil fit on to.

Now I put the first wheels on and put a screw-not before it, so the wheel is stuck to the extension. This is inportant because I have now a connection between the axes and the wheels.

After the first now it is time to put the second wheel on and the rest off the fenders.
This is the result from the update rear axes , fender and bumper

I do hope that the truck is driving much better with this update.
We will see

Erik

Re: Kenworth T950 Roadtrain

hello,

Here a litle update.

The truck is driving great with the new axles.
I'am hope to make a movie from it, with some help.

The last time I was busy with making transport boxes for the roadtrain.
I don't now if it is common for you all to build these boxes, but in our country it is normal.
I visit somethimes other events in the country.
To get the trucks safe in and out off the car, is already a challenge.
And the drive to the events brings also some damage to the trucks.
Thats why I build boxes.
Here a picturefrom the boxes.

Re: Kenworth T950 Roadtrain

hello,

Just another update.
The colors off the trailers where not great. They where a little bit dusty.
So here the new color.
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-C4CGSZSK.jpg

I'am also busy with the " bridges" .
I used old servo's and removed the electronics, so they are used as a motor with a spindel.
this is working perfect.
My first thought was to let the "bridges"work with electronics.
This is not for me, I do not get it.
But i got a solution. I build a cylinder with a time frame on it.
The cylinder let the servo's work. With limit switches on the servo's to control the max limit.
I do hope jou can follow me.Here some pic's
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-CXLXKRGG.jpg

http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-SUUXXSF3.jpg

I can put the hole thing in reverce and it is so that the last thing that is opend is the first to close.
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-SUUXXSF3.jpg

untill next time
greet
Erik

Awesome truck mate!

holland trucker erik 09-10-2013 03:55 PM

Re: Kenworth T950 Roadtrain

hoi,

Yes a update.
I saw on youtube that the cows are loaded at the front off the first trailer.
So I had to rebuild the first trailer.
And also connect the servo's to the cylinder.
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/MiniFoto-LZ7FK4MC.jpg

To get the doors open and the "bridges'" down I build this construction with the servo's
[IMG]http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-ONCLZ7MD.jpg[/IMG

here some pics off all the electric's in the first trailer

http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-4E37RCCK.jpg
http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-VGMBEQLF.jpg

The cylinder with time frame is working perfect. Also the servo's.
to let this two work is a lot off wires required.
This takes some time, and a headache.

erik
