I believe RCLogger uses off set gear motors from Servocity for his dozers (check his thread in the construction section). Here is a link to the motor (I think):

Some of them have a worm gear on the shaft. That is about all I rember as it has been a very long time since I have had one of them appart.

Also check "surplus center" sometimes they also have small air and hydraulic cyliners for a few dollars.

They are located in Lincoln Neb

Hey, ive been looking for motors lately too and i've had plenty of success on ebay

my searches are simply the following

gear motor
geared motor
gearhead motor

and i find tons of items like this one

ebay item # 360431287876

specs are 21-rpm @ 12VDC, 4 ft/lbs torque on that one (thats almost 800 in,oz)
and goes up to 7 ft/lbs @ 41 rpm on 24vdc

i dont know thats where i would start if i where you, theres hundreds all shapes and sizes

Hey Trevor, if I remember correctly, Greg's D8 weigh's around 28 lbs? So if you double the torque of his motor's, then you should have a baseline starting point for motor choice's. Cheer's, Neil.

I wasn't suggesting he use those motors, i said there are plenty like that, obviously he would have to find one's that meets his specific needs

also i do not know who greg is or anything about his D8 (guess i haven't read everything here yet) i was simply making a suggestion

sorry about the misunderstanding

Trevor

have you look at some of the new 11.1 volt drills ,you could check your local pawn shops and find them cheap or yard sales , plenty strong and even a clutch you can adjust to not break tracks lol
