Re: I think it's 1 gage
Your Dad's locomotive is made by a company called Aster in Japan. This one is a full live steamer and burns Butane for fuel. It is a 1/32 scale model and it will run on any G scale gauge 1 track. They are now a very coveted locomotive and sell for very big money. It also looks like the factory display case too and the loco looks to be in pristine condition.

Re: I think it's 1 gage
Steamer is right, that is a beautiful and valuable locomotive; escpecially if it has not been steamed. Not to mention the fact that it is 31 years old. If you have never fired a live steam locomotive before, I would not start with that one. I would put the cover back on it and admire it.
Very nice piece. Chris |
Re: I think it's 1 gage
Thanks for the great info fellas. The loco is in great condition and it's been fired maybe a dozen or so times when I was a kid. My dad would prop up the front and run it real slow and blow the whistle. Prity cool to see when I was a little boy. I hope it stays in the fam for a good long time. Thanks again for the info.
