Newbie from San Antonio

Hey Guys!

I'm a truck newbie but I've been into R/C's for 35 years. Had on-road cars, drifters, off-road, and crawlers. For some reason, never a truck. Found this site and have been reading like crazy! I apologize if some of y'alls post come back after many years! So many awesome builds and great inspiration here.

Trying to build up a Cascadia/Volvo eventually. Buying it piece by piece so wife don't kill me! LOL So far I have a frame, cross members, shocks, tranny case, and axle cases for rear. Going to be a long-term project! Been looking to trade some stuff for a roller but haven't come across anything.

Any tips or DIY stuff I can do or read about would be great!

Hi sal45, welcome aboard. You will find inspiration, ideas and tidbits from many of the talented persons on this forum. However, most of all, let your build be your vision. The secret to my buying things in this hobby has been to let my wife pick the color, lol. Happy building!

Thanks Gator! I actually got the blessing from the wife, so I'm buying a Cascadia for my birthday! Funny how you still get excited over toys at 45!

I'm 42 and still buy LEGO technic. Only the really big flagship sets though...

the difference being all grown up is you don't always have to wait till Christmas or birthday anymore

And don't forget the cost! I never got any r/c's when I was a kid for any occasion that cost more than $90.
