Thanks for the tip northern farmer!!!

Re: 966 update
Are you using a MIG welder? Is it flux core wire or using Blueshield gas? I'm not a welder but it looks like you need more heat.
I like the build! Keep the pictures coming! |
Re: 966 update
Yeah, I'm using the mig I mentioned a while back. And the wire is .032 regular argon sheilded.

I think when I build my loader, I will be using all Aluminum plate for the frame and such. Keep up the progress. |
Re: 966 update
Thanks. I haven't worked on it for a while lol. I'm being lazy because the cross tube is frustrating. ):
And about the welds: yeah that's what I was afraid of, but shouldn't I be able to weld over the crap welds or grind them off and do better ones? |
Re: 966 update
Also; I know these are crap weld (for the most part) lol. This model is basically for me to look at and maybe sometimes play with.:)

Re: 966 update
Your wire size is quite large for the thickness of material you are working with. I would try .025 if you can. You may have to change the drive wheels on your welder to run that though I'm not sure. I am using .035 wire in my MIG and it is very difficult to weld thin material without it looking like bird turds.

Re: 966 update
Well it's been a while but (as most of you know, cosworth and rcp lol) I am getting near the electronics (and final) phase of the build! So I thought I might share some progress pics:

Re: 966 update
.032 is OK , but slow the wire feed down turn the shielding gas up ( if that is what your using. If flux core wire, clean your metal better.) a little more heat wouldn't hurt .
